any good inexpensive computer monitors?

what about using a Television?

it would be awesome to have a giant screen so my eyes dont struggle. BIG!!

any suggestions? i promise, you will lose me when it comes to the connections discussion. there seems to be so many ways to hook up a monitor.

I use a 32" monitor bought at Costco on line for under 300 bucks. I have a Mini Mac so its only just one lone hookup. I am kinda dumb when it comes to computers so if I can do it, you will too.

Yes, you can use a TV as a display. Just be sure you have DVI/VGA/HDMI input to spare on it, and appropriate output on the computer.

Tons of them on the market.

As a geezer of computers I remember my first monitor was black background green text and like 6 or 8 brightness levels of the green. No graphics at all, and it was expensive. Heck I paid $600 for a 300 baud modem that was manual dial.

Check out your graphic card, and see what resolution you can use. I have a monitor running at 3840x2160 pixels and it is wonderful resolution.

My guess is that these days you'd have a hard time getting a bad monitor. I'd stick with well known brands. And yes, a TV can be used as long as the comp and the TV have compatible output/input or an adapter is available.

I want to say that there's someone here that posted about using something like a 40-something inch TV as their monitor.

If you watch Next Door of Facebook marketplace, sometimes I see people getting rid of their 1-2 year old monitors for pennies on the dollar.

The other day there was a 26" widescreen for $25 that I was a bit too late for...I guess it's gamers going bigger?

how old is your computer ?

no point in getting a hi-rez monitor if you are outputting low rate video

so do you have a video card or run off a CPU chip
what outputs /connections on your computer/card
most can hook up with an adapter
do you need speakers or use separate speakers

dot size & spacing means you'll have to sit far from the TV

sure, it works

I have my Sony XBR 52" TV hooked up so I can display things from the computer on it if I'd like to. I don't use it very often as it just isn't all that exciting.
My recently purchased Lenovo ThinkVision monitor is a thing of beauty to look at. At 27" it's about as big as I want to be sitting in front of. I bought it for the colors it is capable of putting out.

I had no issues with a 1080p 50" LG sitting at normal monitor distances but some old games look crappy. Then went to triple screens, much better. TrackIR and VR for games now.
