Those Wayne Daltons look pretty good and flush out of the way.
That will definitely be a consideration next time around.

Very cool tech however with direct drive, wireless sensor and all door opener. Does not work well with heavy wood doors that change weight with the humidity changes throughout the year. Really too bad they didn’t work for me. Turns out they are no longer available too. Maybe the newer direct drive options are better.

Yep...sadly, WD is no longer available. The pic above is from 10 years back and I had three of them. (another door on the opposite end)
Since then, I had troubles with one of them and couldn't find parts anymore.
I replaced the one on the left with a Liftmaster wall mounted opener.

The WD's are fast...prob twice the speed of the Liftmaster.

The clearance for the cars was the biggest reason for the WD's....the Liftmaster does the same.
No overhead motor and chain/belt.

Ended up with a Chamberlin B970, normally $245, found it on sale for $195.
Installed it, is working nicely.
The date on my Genie screw drive was Jan. 1994. I remember putting it up, I knew it was a long time ago but didn’t realize it was that long ago.

Seems like a heck of a deal with all the goodies. Heck I think I spent close to $100 just adding all the MyQ stuff to our older opener! Hope you get almost 30 years out of this one too.

Get one of the smart ones too. We have the LiftMaster/chamberlain MyQ setup. Nice to be able to check the door from your phone, open it remotely to let someone drop something in the garage, and it has a 10 minute auto close timer so the kids don’t forget to close it. 🤣
This. I went to one of the shaft drive/side mount in one of my 2 garages. When the other one goes out I will convert it the same.

I put a Liftmaster side mount in for the same reason as Steve, lift etc.

It’s still going strong at my ex’s house abs I will be adding two of them to my house soon.

It's a Direct-Lift from Greg Smith Equipment. The length is 207 inches with the ramps.
The model name is Pro-Park 7 because it's rated capacity is 7K lbs.
In the pic, the car could go up another foot easily, but then I'm approaching the ceiling.

Best purchase I ever made. I paid $1800 for it...they're prob more now.

Also, the thing can be easily moved from one stall to another with the included casters.

I’d kill to have a ceiling high enough for a lift. Alas, I’m a couple feet short.
I even looked into raising the rafters, but just wasn’t feasible.

^^^ What's your ceiling height?
Mine is 10ft...I could get by with 9ft. with my lift.

^^^ Yeah, that would be iffy. Esp if you were using it for a parking spot for a full size vehicle.

By my measurements, even an old 911 and 914 wouldn’t fit.

Steve, thank you very much for the information.
