I've never been to Dubai and I have never stood outside at that height, though I have filmed outside on the top of the CN Tower in Toronto.
That said I do not believe that the section of her holding the cards was shot in situ. You can see the background or sky change densities when they begin the pull back. The reason I am sceptical is that having shot lots of helicopter footage over the years I can not see how they could get such a motionless frame in such a close up at that height and with the winds. Even on a calm day and with little wind and a Wescam that is a hell of a shot for the pilot and operator. And yes I know they can shoot wider and push in and stabilize in post.
The rotor wash alone from the helicopter would make holding the cards impossible and the further back you go the longer on the lens you need to be.
I do believe that she is standing on the top for that part of the shot that speed ramps and pulls back.

On a side note, I'm reliably informed that Emirates is the best/nicest airline in the world. Their Business Class and First Class is luxurious beyond belief.
If there is a better way to travel than the top deck of an Emirates A380 im yet to find it. Although Qatar try very hard.

Here is how you get to the top of the Burj Khalifa.

Great ad. I figured it was some kind of stunt person if it was real.

I really do respect that airline, but then I'm an Arsenal fan.

In NO f'ing way would I ever consider doing anything like that. If I was to be at that altitude, I better be in something with wings (or a rotor) and a big engine.

As far as the comments about them having the best-looking attendants, that is just a matter of taste. If you like blonds, I remember some truly stunning female flight attendants on my Lufthansa flights back & forth to Germany. A coworker told me that in his opinion JAL and Singapore Air had the best (not just good looking, but most attentive and most polite) female flight attendants. Full disclosure: many of his (and my) flights were business class and that likely makes a difference. And yes, we are sexist pigs to objectify women this way, but one can admire beauty like in art can't one?

I am sure there is a way up there for maintenance (lights, etc.) and I would love to do it.

If she was wearing high heels standing on top of the tower, I would have believed it was real.

Whats amazing about that is we know behind that Emirates stunt there were riggers and safety standards and meticulous planning and rehearsal. As opposed to these, which appears to be people who've somehow managed to climb up there.

Instagramming is a dangerous profession.

I work at heights for a living, granted not that high. These are 80 meters tall.

Many years ago I got a contract to work at heights on a mining site in South Australia.

We installed a roof on a new "shed"... This shed was about 120 meters high and bigger than an American football field. It took a team of 6 people about 8 weeks to finish the job. Honestly the hardest money I've ever earned but well worth it. We stayed in a local resort and our living expenses were part of the deal.

120 meters may not sound high but a residential tower approximately 100 meters tall has about 30 stories.

I am not afraid of heights at all.
Depths are another matter entirely though…

I'm surprised at the lack of wind at that height.

Yes, Dubai.

The Burj Khalifa, known as the Burj Dubai prior to its inauguration in 2010, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With a total height of 829.8 m (2,722 ft, just over half a mile) and a roof height (excluding antenna, but including a 244 m spire) of 828 m (2,717 ft), the Burj Khalifa has been the tallest structure and building in the world since its topping out in 2009, supplanting Taipei 101, the previous holder of that status.

Yes, I often think of it as being windy up high, but I guess maybe that's often higher (where clouds dwell) or much closer to the ground.

I jumped out of a plane once. Once the 'chute opened, it got almost completely silent and still.
