Never judge someone by what they drive

I'd be shown the door before I'd walked through it if he'd looked at my car

Tattoo's with a significant story behind them are great, tattoo's done just to look cool are not cool IMHO

Personally I wouldn't let anyone scribble on me with ink unless I was being marked up so a surgeon could operated on me in the right place, then that's ok

Probably not what car, but how it was cared for...clean, well maintained, interior not littered with trash? An indication to me.

Me too..no tats. Decided no when I was still in grade school, thumbing through wanted posters in our local post office. (Yes youngsters, back in the day, they really did that.)
Anyway, I noticed those wanted that had tats, included in the description.

Right then, wanted to leave my career options open in case I didn't want to be identified.

When I realized I was "lacking something in my life", and that i have "very low self esteem," I decided to get this trashy low class piece of ink smudged on my arm. Now i"m "cool and fit in".

Guess I was wrong to think i just got it to memorialize my hero, my brother, that I lost to cancer.

Anorher time I was really "lacking in something", so I disfigured myself when I lost my best friend last year. Damn, what a boost to my ego!!

I should have been more clear!

Not what they drive, and you would be thrown through the door not shown it (), but rather the overall look of the car, poor tires, interior clutter, etc.

Not my deal, but...

The only proper way to judge somebody is by their music collection, but music collection is a dated construct

It would never occur to most folks to put tats on their body to commemorate or memorialize anything. Even folks with lots of tattoos already. Doing so does indicates that you think differently than most people. That might be a good thing or bad...depending on what one is looking for. That said, most folks talking about tats are generally not thinking of memorials...but rather, the typical frivolous "tramp stamps" or the the guy that covers himself with skulls and demons in his own miniaturized landscape of hell on skin.

When I was young, I was always told that they look at your shoes when considering you for a job. If the soles were badly worn, you were a good candidate for a hard, physical job or one where you had to take a lot of crap (as "you really needed the money." If a bit higher level job, they wanted to see how well you took care of those shoes (clean/shined/repaired) as that indicated how meticulous you would be on the job.

My wife used to watch HGTV, and that guy usually did some really great stuff. I was going to say that you'd been duped by Internet photoshopping, but holy carp, you're right. This guy got tatted up. Wow!

Both my brothers are ass hats so that's not going to happen for me. Guess I can relate more to the second one.....

Sorry for your losses, Vinny.

I have this on my truck........

Unlike so many others that I see, your tattoos are neither trashy nor low-class. And they certainly do look like quality work. I completely understand wanting to memorialize a loved one, but why with a tattoo?

How would've you honored your brother and your pet had tattoos not gone mainstream?

Well, i got my first tattoo (I have numerous...) almost 40 yrs, ago. Way before they were mainstream, so I've never considered them a trendy thing.

People who put pictures on their walls are trashy, probably cost society money. Especially people who put pictures on kitchen walls, I immediately assume those people are criminals. I mean, I guess if a really hot girl put a small picture up in the hallway it's OK, but only if she's really hot. But if a hot girl put a picture up in the second bedroom, I immediately know she's a slut.

Oh, you were asking a serious question? The answer is no, my memory isn't that good, I will go entire months not thinking about the dude that bled out in my arms, or the way that he took his last breaths through his eye socket, since his skull was partially crushed. Wanna know what's weird? I'll also go months without noticing the big fat tattoo on my arm, because after almost 20 years, it's just a part of me, like a mole or too much body hair. I mean, I see it everyday in the mirror, but I don't really see it. I would bet that almost everyone with a tat feels the same way...they don't even notice them anymore, the only person who actually seems them is YOU. Clearly it's not an "attention" thing.

The worst? - Russian Mob tattoos, Yakuza & MS-13.
- Why would you make it easier for the police to identify you?

Back in the day if you wanted to serve in the SAS, Tattoos were forbidden.

I look at tattoos as a memory to higher meaning than just an object that you permanently affixed to your body. Mine are of objections/situations that bring memories of those that have passed in my life. Why? Why not.

That said if you get a compass, infinity sign, or a butterfly. You're a mindless twat.
