So Beep, Bosch is the brand to own over there? I was considering a Miele dishwasher for in a rental that needs upgrading/replacing, but I read the reviews and they seem very unreliable and short lived. I need a new brand to standardise on.

Washing Machine Dilemma
Thanks all. I ended up picking up a 2016 Speed Queen top loader (with s/steel tub) on Craigslist today ($200). It’s in immaculate condition.

That's the same model we have. Nothing fancy... it just washes clothes.

We gave up on "domestic" machines. Speed Queen was highly recommended. We ended up with Maytag Commercial units. Very pleased. Massive load capacity. Seem very durable.
Cheers

We got about 13 years from our front loading Whirlpools. Would have preferred 20 or 30, but I wasn’t too unhappy. What made me unhappy was that my wife bought an electric dryer to replace the former gas dryer.

If you washign machine won't agitate, check your "agitator dogs" - they're easy enough to replace, if they're broken.
