We just financed the Wife's 2017 Camry that she had leased. Only 12k on the clock, those Toyota boys were salivating when she brought the car in for "end of lease inspection".
Driving to and around work and seeing multi car fender bender collisions every day I always think to myself "These people don't realize what a world of hurt they are going to be in". One of the guys I work with has his MB in for repair and they gave him a Honda Fit to drive around. He complained at first and they told him he's lucky to have a rental car. He's going on his 4th week driving that thing.

I’m building a house for a couple. She works for Ford and they have shut down plants because they cannot get chips.
I drive by several dealerships weekly and they only have a few, what looks like new cars, but mostly used cars and they are thin. The local Toyota dealer is empty. |

If his MB is/was under the factory warranty while he had a loaner for 30 days or more, he would probably qualify for a lemon law buyback or replacement car. Just sayin'.

The A35 is just an AMG in name only. Not a bad car for what it is, though.

Is that really a bad thing? Buy, buy, consume, throw away... I mean on this board lots of us have 30-50y old cars still kicking and being fun. I'm kinda glad for less new cars on the road and more repairing/recycling, and I don't even hug trees. Cars do last longer than a lease term, sometimes decades if you take care of them ;-) I was kinda hoping this shortage made people realize no car payment is good !

^^^ Living in a rust belt area...I know, even with careful maintenance, the car won't last more than 8-10 years before rust pops up. Salt gets into crevices that you can't clean out. A person can make it drive much longer, but the rust will get it.

Yep..this is absolutely crazy. Makes me glad that our 2 cars are both low mileage and in good working order.

I asked my Honda dealer the same question. He said that the cars will eventually arrive and be taken by the customers who left a deposit. Some (like mine) may arrive late in the model year.

Burn the fire.

Pretty sure there is a backlog of orders to deliver. Not before dealers add some crazy markup before delivery. You know, "market adjustments" because "F you". I've seen it on some cars here.
