Is this leather?
 

Wifey picked up these stools that were advertised as leather.
Texture looks like vinyl to me. Flipped stool over and the trim looks like it as well.
Does leather have a backing like this?
They are old and were not cheap.

I was taught to use the "finger " test.

Press down with your finger. Leather will show starfish looking creases radiating from your finger. Vinyl will only cause a smooth indentation.

That’s “loud and proud” vinyl.
It’s not even making an effort to make anyone think it’s leather.

That's the cowhide from a vegan cow. You know that synthetic burger meat; well this is the leather off the same cow.
