NATO watch strap

Anybody want one? 20mm lug size. It came on the Hamilton Khaki watch I bought some 15-16 years ago. When the watch came, I removed it from the strap, went leather. Since replaced the leather with metal after soaking it with used motor oil.
Yeah, I forgot to take the watch off when doing an oil change.

Anyway, this could be classified as "NOS". Nicely stitched tan (khaki) canvas with a thin darker tan leather backing on the wrist side. Same leather used in a strip as reinforcement for the buckle holes.

Warning: "Hamilton" stamped on the wrist side and on the buckle. So, may or may not match your watch.

Free to the first guy to say he wants it. PM your snail mail address and it will get stuffed in an envelope. Also, you have to post a pic of it being used. Guess it will have to be an honor system on that one.

Do you think it'll fit an Apple Watch?

(JK, Paul. That's a nice offer and I'm sure it'll go to a good home!)

To be in the mail to WPOZZZ tomorrow. Cindy will drop it in a box when she goes shopping.
Really not a bad strap, very much a WWII theme color wise.

You'd probably rather have this one..they're only $10 more. Leather...

Seriously, dunno why, but NATO straps do appear to be pretty popular among the younger set as a fashion thing.

Metal bracelet for me...after soaking that leather one with used mobil 1. I'm a forgetful sort, often forgetting to take off my watch.

They are very popular for military style watches too, or at least, the sites that sell them seem to indicate that. THey are inexpensive and can be just about whatever color you want.

Interesting, I've never seen them in leather before.

I sweat a lot which eventually makes a leather or fabric strap/band smell. I tend to stick with rubber or metal (I like that the rubber is lighter weight). The good rubber also smells like vanilla.

I do have some leather, but usually swap those on if I'm going out and want the watch to have a different look.

Now we've started a watch band thread...lol. You know, I never thought about watches or their bands much. Not until all those watch threads started popping up here. I tend to stick with the same old combination that works. Some guys love switching around with "collections". To each his own. It's a fun subject tho..lately find myself watching youtube watch reviews, even a few watch repairs...those as detailed as engine rebuilds.

Now waiting for WPOZZZ to post a pic. May take a spell since Christmas mailing has started. His band really is "in the mail"...now in the hands of a government delivery service.

Cool! A watch style that goes well with a Nato strap. Have to confess that I was a bit concerned about that. Also learned that it takes about a week for mail to go from Oregon to Hawaii. Bryan, may it serve you well for a long time. Beats hell out of it's previous life of just sitting unused in a drawer. Wear it in good health.

Is that the original or the new leather strap? The green cloth one is the wrong size.

Leather is the original. The Nato from PWD is 1mm thin, but works.

Hamilton lugs are 20mm...your watch must be 21mm. If it's comfortable to you, not a real problem.
