Railroad Retirement Benefits.

I just turned 65 and nut up about $130 per month for Medicare supplemental for essentially no co-pays. With this triple bypass I had in May I am going to have some bills across the next couple of years.

Just happy to be alive and now rich as a mother f**%#r with this SSI COLA kicker.

^^^ That is an excellent benefit (RR)
Keep on using the benefits....you've earned them.

You’re emotionally attached.

Ida May Fuller worked for three years under the Social Security program. The accumulated taxes on her salary during those three years was a total of $24.75. Her initial monthly check was $22.54. During her lifetime she collected a total of $22,888.92 in Social Security benefits.
The first SS recipients did not pay much of anything, yet they collected. The worker:retiree ratio made everything work for a time.

It is a Ponzi scheme. You paid for your parents to retire. I am paying for Boomers to retire. Just looking at it for what it is.

Just looked and saw that the first increased payment...won't be until the Jan 2022 payment.
I might be able to scrimp it out till then. Then it's all on. SmileWavy

KBS....Kentucky Breakfast Stout is only $12/4 pack.
My monthly increase would buy me almost 7 four packs. Win!!!

I am about to hit 48 years working...so will probably make this one my last. I may wait until age 70 for SS depending how far my other money goes. It is too bad Medicare is so expensive if you have a high joint income in retiring...it ruins the whole SS thing.
