Finally...a raise. 5.9% starting in January.
An extra $88/month for food/beer and what-not!

(social security admin cost of living allowance)

big increase - not complaining either.

Been retired for 8 years....first (significant) raise in that time.
Thank you to all who are still working! (keep it up)

Don't forget to factor in the big jump in Medicare costs

^^^ I have Priority Health and the rate has dropped in half last month.
Have heard nothing of Medicare going up.

For most people Part B is going up from $148.50 to $170.10.

^^^ It's deducted from my SS check...so I'll see it if it happens. No word of it yet.

It has been announced.

When the Jan check arrives...I'm headed to Founders.:D

SSI is a bought and paid for retirement benefit by the recipients. It's not a hustle.

However, I hear you loud and clear. I have seen more folks work their natural ass off for unemployment benefits with the Covid $$ kicker than I can shake a stick at.
