Bedjet - great gift idea
Just putting it out there for fellow Pelicans with perpetually cold wives...
It's basically a remote controlled device that blows warm air in your bed in winter, cool dry air in summer, blah blah... My wife could not have been happier if I had bought her a new brand Range Rover... And I will admit I enjoy the leftover air on my side too... That thing rocks to warm your feet in the bed (have not tried summer mode yet) and since it's on her side I no longer need to deal with her extra blankets. My most successful gift idea in a while - for both of us really - just a public service announcement... |

I remember my parents and I in the mid 70s drove from the Tampa/St Pete area of FL to Pensacola. We stopped half way and spent the night and the motel that we stayed in (I'm pretty sure it was a motel, not a hotel) had one. I was curious so my parents popped a quarter in. I think I was about 5 or 6, so I thought it was cool. I think I've seen them one or two other times, maybe. We made the drive from Pensacola to the Tampa/St Pete area many times in the 70s. I'm guessing those trips are probably where I saw them if I did indeed see them more than once.

The 'dutch oven' combined with 'magic fingers' would be a great anniversary gift.

Cheaper than going to the movies.

I used to heat a brick on the wood stove, wrap it in towels and put it under the blankets on her side of the bed. She left me anyway.

A girlfriend had a 2.5 year old boy. She used to put his jeans in the dryer for him in the morning. I foolishly asked her "Why do you do that?" Her response "Because I love him." A kind habit.

As an eight to ten year old kid, my "room" was a converted porch with no insulation and plastic sheet over the uisually open part of the porch. We lived in a small town in the mountains, & it got pretty cold on winter nights. In addition to the blankets that were so heavy I couild hardly move, my mother would heat up the iron cook plates on the stove, wrap them in news paper, & put them in my bed for warmth.

My wife is the opposite, she is constantly overheated/sweating, while I truly bask in the Summer sun/heat, and shiver all damned Winter. I didn't run any air conditioning this Summer (even while sleeping, just a fan) She moved her home office out to the 30' camper so she could keep it 65*.
