^^^ Thanks! Yes..they keep advancing the procedures.
I remember when a back injury meant laying in traction for weeks/months.

A simple way to look at it- you are basically putting a splint on the fracture by gluing it together. Then it can heal on its own.
Risks such as infection and the "glue" going to the wrong place and causing problems is rare. One real risk- the glued vertebral body is "harder" than the adjacent bodies. There is, I have read, a small but real increased risk of fractures of the adjacent bodies. So, take care of yourself and treat whatever the cause of the original fracture- osteoporosis- etc. I personally know several people that have had this done- with wonderful results. Good luck gary |

Mom had it done and it was like overnight magic. No pain. No more pinched nerves.
In the next few months remember to take it easy. Unused muscles around the column will have to readjust to the new position.

My mom and my aunt had it done about 20 years ago and it relieved them of their pain.

It's done.
Thanks to all here for the 'well wishes!' I went in at 7 this am ....2 hrs early because I needed the MRSA in my IV for at least an hour beforehand. (I couldn't get the mrsa swab test in time) Just before they gave me the 'knock-out' stuff...I checked to make sure the two young nurses were both buttoned up good. I surely didn't want a distracted surgeon. In the recovery room..as soon as I woke up, I walked around. Felt of my back and the spine was back to a normal curvature...instead of jutting out. My throat is sore because of the breathing tube...otherwise I feel good. Tomorrow I will probably be a little sore in the spine area. Walked out the front door at 11 am. Follow-up exam on Feb 25
