Thanks to all here for the 'well wishes!'
I went in at 7 this am ....2 hrs early because I needed the MRSA in my IV for at least an hour beforehand. (I couldn't get the mrsa swab test in time)
Just before they gave me the 'knock-out' stuff...I checked to make sure the two young nurses were both buttoned up good. I surely didn't want a distracted surgeon.

In the recovery room..as soon as I woke up, I walked around. Felt of my back and the spine was back to a normal curvature...instead of jutting out.
My throat is sore because of the breathing tube...otherwise I feel good. Tomorrow I will probably be a little sore in the spine area.

Walked out the front door at 11 am. Follow-up exam on Feb 25
Miracles of modern medicine! Outstanding news! Enjoy your new-old back!

That's terrific news!
I've horsed around with lots of pavers, rail road ties, bags of cement etc, etc over the years, it's a matter of time before I'll need a rebuild.

I'd better hang on to some of that cement...

60 lbs? That’s got to be good for about 695,000 spine repairs

My co-pay was $220....The full cost was prob 100 times that. I wouldn't like to do it without insurance.

I couldn't stay awake after 10 last night...so I slept from 10 till 7. Longer than ever for me.

I'm so used to feeling pins and needles in my feet and legs after 15 minutes on my feet.....it never happened today.
Then the spine would start hurting and it seemed to swell up each day....that's gone.
I can feel some swelling on both sides of my spine where they entered...other than that, it feels good.

They gave me 14 celebrex capsules to avoid osteoarthritis from starting....2 a day.
Also a prescription for Norco for pain....I didn't fill that one..(I have some Tylenols here, if I need anything)

Maybe use advil/ibuprofen? It reduces inflammation. I’d ask your doc’s office.

^^^ I googled the Celebrex 200 and it's supposed to do the same...and more.
Lots of warnings to not take more than 2/day...liver issues.

Good luck with your recovery and I hope that the procedure is successful beyond your expectations.

The company was Kyphon. The inventor and the founders are about 1 degree from me in my professional network.

Several ex-colleagues worked there.

And coincidentally I helped the lawyers for Kyphon just a tiny bit in a patent infringement case back around '05.

Kyphon was acquired by Medtronic years ago:

https://www.forbes.com/2007/07/27/medtronic-kyphon-kyphoplasty-biz-sci-cx_mh_0727kyphon.html?sh=199a94d82831

Generated wealth I reckon' for some Kyphon employees and ex-employees.

But more importantly, a procedure with better outcomes for many is a result of hard work and financial investment.

Looks like you’ll be good to go with the rock hard suspension of the race car known as the Honda Civic Si.

Ahh..that's where the name came from...interesting link.
The spreading before the injection of the cement must have been a real game changer.

Even at this early one day after...I'm very pleased. I've been on my feet more today than I have in most days of the last month. I can start getting back in shape in the next weeks. It's amazing how fast a person can lose their conditioning by sitting around all day.

It might even arrive by summer!
I have read about the non-adjustable suspension....hope the seats make up for it.

Third day: Have had a dull pain in the area when sitting since surgery. Not like before, but pressure made it worse. The Dr said there would be some soreness from the expansion of the vertebrae.

Woke up today...it's gone and everything feels great. Haven't had to take any pain pills.
