Wink New to me '83 Honda VF750F Interceptor

Picked it up almost 10 days ago from a FB MP ad.

Conveniently located in Daytona Beach - about a 20 minute drive.

39.5K original miles - pretty much factory original and in good running condition. In fact, I rode her home after getting a lift to the seller's house from a buddy.

Asking $1,900 and I didn't haggle because I liked the kid selling her and I thought his asking price was pretty fair.

He works with his father who owns a small local appliance repair business. Thought that was pretty cool.

This makes my 5th Interceptor!

Cornering the market on the classic Intercepter!

Intercepter is one of the best names ever for a motorcycle.

I love those things.

Had a guy going out on deployment trying to give me smoking deal on a red one, practically new, was going to pick something up in Oz that you could not get here.

Tough to turn down. He sold it to a guy who was getting out and was going to be a mailman.

Thanks, Tob!

FWIW, another one of these showed up today - also on FB MP. This time right here in NSB.

Was not running - cosmetics not bad. Wanted $500. I PM'd the seller and found out he bought it 5 years ago and was not running then. I wanted more info and left my phone number but the seller never called - just said "Have had a lot of interest. First $500 takes it." So I let it go. The fact that I just bought mine in running condition means I don't really need another project bike. Especially with a seller not interested in discussing....which to me is always a red flag.

These Interceptors are future collector bikes.

I am pretty sure I have an original Honda sales brochure for this bike. If anyone is interested let me know.

Damn, I like those old Interceptors.
There's a 500cc one about an hour away that looks to be in good condition but hasn't run in a few years. At times I'm tempted to drag it home just to look at it.

Best
Les

Very nice! I've owned a stock VF700 and a VF750 ex-superbike and both were great fun. Really good torque and great sounding engine. The only real bad point is removing and installing the carburetors!

I put quite a few miles on my college roommate's 500 interceptor which is great little bike and I was fortunate to ride a VF1000 once. Unfortunately the 1000 wasn't running good at the time so I couldn't really feel the brute force of it.

Go for it Big Les! Or like me, wait to buy one in good running condition. Either way - they're great bikes!

Yeah David.....I've never had enough confidence to do the carb R&R myself, but it can be done. And an important aspect of keeping these bikes running the way they should. Something like that it's best to have an "expert" do for ya, IMHO.

Especially the VFR's!

Thanks, Mike. Agree on the paint scheme. Mine would benefit from a re-paint so hoping to do that at some point.

Wow that brings back memories as a young 18 yr old lusting over motorcycles I could not afford. The color option you have is also my favorite. I was riding a dirt bike back in the day, early 80's, and the dealership had a red version in the window. I think Star Wars movie was around the same time.

Enjoy and take more pictures!

Thanks, David - great memories for you there!

At some point I hope to post some riding vids, so stay tuned.....
