The last one I carried was solid brass, 1982 commemorative celebrating their 50th. Zippo engraved my signature on it's face. The other is my dad's old lighter...just a standard chrome one, the chrome worn to brass in spots. I doubt any of them are worth much to anybody but me.

If I had to bet, I'd bet your grandfather also carried a spare flint or two under that
solid top layer of the packing. I hope you still have it...

Oh...you can toss a lit zippo..a bic goes out the second you let go.

Don’t understimate an old zippos value. Tons of them are worth decent money.

I think you guys are correct, correct for your grandfathers era, but now people don't tend to wear pocket watches (especially tiny ones that would fit into that pocket) they sized it for Zippo lighters. Nice to see you guys so emotional about your pocket watches/levis,

LOL. It is where I wear my pocket watch with my 501s. Have done so since the 70s. But, not emotional about it.
