My bikes were not race worthy and my parents did not have a pickup truck to haul me to the races nor did they have the money or interest to support me racing. My eventual racing in the late 80's was on a shoestring budget and was helped out by older friends I made at the track (helped me by taking me to the big races with their racing kids in their campers/motorhomes). My only "new" last race bike was stupidly purchased with a loan while in college (I worked my way through college with Army reserve money and part time jobs). By the time I was racing, it was primarily against highschool kids with parents who supplied them with brand new bikes and gear. When they got hurt they got to stay home from school... when I got hurt I missed work and rent payments.

Still.... it was the best time of my life.
Cool dealio, bro, they say when you stop enjoying life and being cynical is when you truly are done..Keep the rubber on the road and the pegs right side up and the knees in the breese...

I raced moto long ago. Here is me on a mechanically sound KX, before I went crazy with UFO plastics. I wish I had the finished photo of it.

My son rode that bike for over 2 years!!

My current stable is a 2016 KTM 250 XCF and a 2022 Beta 300..!

^^^Love these!

My buddy needs a bike. How does the 250f compare with the Beta?

I see 250f and 350f’s for sale now. Not a lot of two-strokes.

The KTM is a tractor/bulldozer.. It will flatten anything in its path.. The Beta is a more of a technical/agile type. The XT is basically a detuned RR model but still has plenty of power. I love it..
