With the thread title, I was expecting something a little different.

Here’s our fun escort. It’s been raced all over the US and Canada… even won at Laguna Seca in this car.

My former boss, Tom J. was a well know local business owner, and had a full head of grey hair. His son was dating a very pretty girl, and I don't remember the circumstances but it was just Tom and his soon to be daughter in law that went to a fancy restaurant to have dinner. 100% innocent, but Tom said you could feel the ladies in the room scorning disapproval, and many of them knew Tom was married and had kids.

He said later he loved introducing his daughter in law to the same ladies that were gossiping.

In the late 90's we put maybe 75,000 miles on the Mercury version of that Escort as a mobile patrol vehicle since the companies normal one had been totaled.

By the time we were done with it I bet it was just crushed.

I had one of those original Mk1 Ford Escorts. I LOVED than can. Sadly I don't have any pics of it. It was painted yellow as a Kodak sales rep' car. Only 1300CC but it was so light it fun to drive.

A local perennial SCCA champion used to clobber fast cars with his competition car: A bone stock Dodge Colt with a roll cage.
