This actually seems like a pretty clever plan -

The only problem is, you'd have to live on a Cruise ship.

My friend's parents did that. They talked to a cruise line, and just moved in. The were on board for most of the year. Way cheaper than a old folks home, with great food and new people to meet every week.

Me too. Otherwise you're in a closet unless you're on public. ...but I doubt that can be $43/day.

The idea is NOT to go on cheap cruise ships ie not $43 a day ships.
