Not too bad on week days. Weekends and holidays it's pretty busy!

Class 3, I believe, goes up to 28-30. Mine's a Class 2 w/top speed of 20, which is plenty fast on the beach.

Yeah I remember your post about it and checked it out - quite a machine! Ya know, it's nice to have some options when it comes to transportation these days!

I unlocked it electronically and it will go 37 mph but I only go that fast on a none busy large streets. Normally, I am hovering at 20-25 in small residential or streets with bike lanes. Its range on full electric, no pedaling, is about 55 miles including some hills. If I run only one motor at a time, it can get over 60.

I had a Honda Aero 50 when I went college because I was really tired of paying for parking permits only to never to get a space. Ended up walking 1/2 miles to school when I attended. This went on for three semester so I decided to buy a scooter, ride up to the closest place and lock it up against a light pole and walk three min to class. Since then, I missed the freedom of just tossing something small, lock it against a pole and do my business. My younger buy and I ride our ebikes to lunch at time when we are not on our road bikes. Great bonding time. Well, for me anyway.:)

I just installed a Luna cycle bbshd ludicrous mid drive after 3000 miles of hub drive on my fat tire bike. All I can say is wow what a difference with the mid drive. So I started looking at e-bikes. I never thought they'd be interesting to me. But now I'm trying to buy a Porsche e-bike S model.

May I ask why a Porsche E bike? What are you looking for, a bike needed to exercise with a bit of assist to get up the hills, or a bike to cruise to lunch? Of road riding a bit?

I guess it's not something I'm looking for per se. I just see all of these interesting looking bike trails interlaced into the neighborhood. They turned the old Sugarpine railroad easement into really neat bike trails. You can only run or take a bike on them. And you can't really take a motorcycle on them, or my Polaris. I think that would be frowned upon. I already drive the Polaris in plenty of places where I'm not supposed to. But you can take a "bicycle" pretty much anywhere. A traditional bike has limitations too. Like you really don't want to be out peddling around in 105F degree heat. I think an e-bike hits it's stride on a 5-mile ride. Less than 1 mile you can take a bike. And over 5 and I think you need a motorcycle or car.

And one of my friends takes her e-bike literally all over town. It's the removal of limitations that I like. You can ride an e-bike right up to any building in town.

The Sport model matches the Cayman and Macan, lol. I like the design and integrated lights a lot.

You know I am a big time cyclist and think I am still racing based on the way I ride. There are no easy days for a stroll. There are no place or distances a bike can't go IMO. An E bike still require some pedal input or assist. We have one for my kid but he no longer rides it. Since I bought the Grizzly https://arielrider.com/products/grizzly, I ride it to many places near the house, usually within 10 miles. Its plenty fast with globs of torque. I spin front wheel with 1/2 throttle input on tarmac, dry all day long. 50 mile range with just battery power, no pedal or any human assist including some uphills. Good thing about this bike is that its really a moped or a weak 80-100 CC motor cycle. The loophole is the pedals so its an assisted bicycle in our state therefor no lic or registration is needed. Unlock it and it will go 38 mph with full throttle. I think its perfect in and around the trails you described.

Sugar Mt Railroad. You aren't talking about the one couple miles south of Fishcamp? That's one of my favorite train ride. If so, how much of that track did they remove?

Yes, Sir all 100% true. The only section that is bike trail is in the area on North Fresno, in the area between River Park and Clovis. But there are miles and miles and miles from the San Joaquin River all the way to Tower if a person wanted to ride.

I bought two expensive bikes - one aluminum chrome-moly and the other 100% carbon fiber. Riding them is way too much like real work. I like the idea of putting around slower than pedal power but without the sweat and stretchy shorts.

I am always afraid of getting lost deep into the hills. I have only just taken this ebike into trails I know well, so I know when to turn around. Unlike a gas bike, extra fuel can be carried to get home. I suppose an extra battery can be had.

If you like to putt around in nature, then this thing is for you only because it has duel motors with plenty of torque to get you up and over the hills. Most e bike I come across requires some type of pedal assist to get them going when the going when the goring gets rough.

Changed out the grips today.......much better!

Finally got around to setting up this little Go Pro knockoff camera on my bike for today's bike ride.

I thought my little portable stereo would come in decent for the audio but surprisingly the audio had a lot of buzzing from the electric hub motor. So I threw the video into my Video Editor and added an exterior sound clip.

My ride was just over an hour long and roughly 16 miles - my usual route here. I have about 7 video clips from it. This is just one of them.

My first time using this camera I wasn't sure how it would turn out so didn't keep it on all the time. Also didn't want a clip longer than a typical song duration. Lot of people on the beach today because of the weekend - there are other sections less crowded. The variety of people who frequent beaches always amazes me. No wonder that book was made "Life's a Beach".....

Baz, love the last vid. Looks like fun. Love Badfinger. They are a bit before my time, but I like their music. People will give you the dagger eye for riding on the sand like that out here.

Today my camera shot all the clips at 3 minutes - so that was the song in my playlist that matched up with that length. Luckily, I have some good music in my playlist! :p

I try to be very careful not to ride like an idiot. Last thing I want to see is some kind of restrictions on riding ebikes on the beach.

Already got a lecture from one of my best friend's wife - who is a flaming liberal - about how these bikes should be ridden up where all the cars are. :rolleyes:

We get btiched at on the bike path by pedestrians who are always in the know telling us to slow down or walk our bikes due to too many people hanging around clogging the narrow BIKE path while drinking their coffee. I hate these people. They always seem to fooking know everything as long their heart tells them to despite what the law says. I am going to calm down and play Carry On Till tomorrow.
