Easy and convenient
No, it's not.
I wanted to send some money to a person. I have PayPal and Zelle (got rid of Venmo because of scams). The recipient had Cashapp and Apple Pay, or I could put money into her WalMart account. Neither of us has Google Pay. She doesn't accept checks because she doesn't have a checking account. A CHECKING account! So in order to send a paltry $15 one of us was going to have to apply for another payment option. I drove over and handed her cash. I think she knew what it was. ![]() Apparently there is an app that lets you use any of them - another layer of "convenience" to skim off their share. I miss the days of Cash, Check, or Money order.

We have had guys come to our autocross with no cash. We charge $20 for PCA members and $30 to non members. We have had more than a few people expecting us to take their Apple Pay or a debit card as payment. The reply I always gave was to go to the nearest ATM and get cash, and bring that to us. They act like I asked them to bring something that is difficult to procure. One young guy just left.

I was at at place that had a sign right next to the CC pad. I don't normally look at that pad when choosing my food/drink order. The counter person just pointed at the sign that said "no cash, card or electronic pay ONLY." I had cash and wasn't about to pull out a card for one draft beer. It was already poured so we had a situation. She took the cash and threw it into the tip jar. Talk about attitude. Never been back. f them.
