My buddy replaced his Prius ABS in my garage.
It was stuffed under the windshield with a bunch of stuff in the way.
I would never want to work on one.
Then he went to LA and got a good used battery replacement for around $600.
Not my choice for a daily driver but once you are in it you forget its a Prius.
Prius seemed out of place in my garage.

I bought a used 2010 with 50,000 miles for my daughter two years ago. It's over 90,000 now. To date, the only maintenance has been oil, brakes, and tires. She has driven across the country twice, camped in it, semi-offroaded, and the thing keeps running. The big battery still works fine.

I've driven it. It's not a sports car, but it's nimble enough and gets great gas mileage. Also, very practical in terms of interior space.

On a side note, one day while driving in uostate NY, I found myself following a Prius driven by a gray haired dude. Every square inch of the rear end was covered in NRA, Trump, and don't tread on my freedom types of stickers. So, one data point against the liberal girly stereotype of Prius owners.

Camry and corolla hybrids get around 50mpg if you are for some reason alergic to the prius shape, no plug in variants however.

I don't think any pedestrian commuting device is cool, so might as well choose on practicality. F150, minivan, CUV, Prius, 3 series etc are all equally boring appliances in my book.

If you want to be cool you need to buy a 30+ year old car or at least a sports car.
