Jerry should have asked George about it.

We don't have the whole story. It looks like Jerry was scammed for 1.2, sold the car for a slight profit. So the press is "Jerry settles" but I suspect it was more of a global deal where Euro Cars funded the settlement.
The car had been examined by numerous experts, had a factory cert of authenticity etc.
At some point, many of these cars are "fakes". Is a GTO that was wrecked racing but had pretty much a complete car built around the vin plate real or fake?

Maybe what they mean is "transmission of power" through the internals of the engine and not the gear box itself.

The whole article reads as 'clunky' to me.

No, it makes zero sense. I think the author was confused.

roller bearing CRANKSHAFT
RECOMMENDED NEVER LUG IT

the 4 cam motors did not like low revs

most trans have ball bearings not plain

heard the 2 L were a bit better but still not street motors

like his super earl 911 he had restored by Porsche and the magical thread on pelican parts about the much better newer chassis that was restored around his early vin by Porsche themselves?

oh yeah most people forgot all about that story, but it was here in 2004 or 5 and the thread magically vanished in thin air

This sounds weird too.

“The flat 4-cylinder was a 4-speed manual and made 110 bhp“

I read it as the four-cylinder engine had four speeds, not, the four-cylinder engine was mated to a four-speed transmission.

If the Rolling Stones slowly replace every member, are they still the Rolling Stones?
