The 30/06 rifle cartridge is so named because:
30 was the caliber and 06 (1906) the year the military adopted the round.
The original 1903 rifle used a 30/03 cartridge.

Divide 8billion people by 10K generations and you'd only need 800,000 per generation to equal the current population. And while humans started as a small group, there have been over a million since the emergence of agriculture about 10,000 years ago, it's simply silly. I'm sure there are better answers out there on the internet though.

Quick edit. Google tells me the accepted figure is approx. 117 billion people (Modern humans) have lived and died so far on earth. So approx. 15 times the current population.
Thanks for debunking that for me. Just goes to show you can't believe all you read on the Internet.

Maths wise, all you need is for the rate of growth to be maintained at such a level such that the number of people born within one human lifespan is sufficient to double the population, and you would have the stat true. So on a prima facie basis it didn't seem implausible at all, given current growth rates.

Director Jim Jarmusch has a speaking role in the Billy Bob Thornton movie "Slingblade".

He plays the guy at the hamburger stand where Carl gets his french fried pertaters.

The Roadrunner's "Beep, beep" in the early Roadrunner and Coyote movie was not voiced by Mel Blanc, but was the voice of one of the background artists, recorded and sped up.

Best

In the "deal of the century department", Plymouth paid $50,000 to Warner Bros.-Seven Arts to use the Road Runner name and likeness from their Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner cartoons (as well as a "beep, beep" horn, which Plymouth paid $10,000 to develop)

And what wasn't stored there was much of the nation's store of silver. As copper was critical for the larger effort in WW2 Project Y "borrowed" the silver that it needed for the cyclotrons (huge electromagnetically driven particle accelerators) used in Oak Ridge for uranium enrichment.

It was returned to Ft Knox after the war.
