We need a new gun thread here.
Just scored a grail gun - a W. German, factory nickel SIG P226. Smoking deal and seller even shipped before he gave me payment info.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...170f615fa5.jpg I have a few modern SIGs, but the old German decocker models cannot be beaten. Here are a few more of mine. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...7fd4c3c030.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...80f04d14cc.jpg Snagged this one from a local gun store who didn't know what they had. Robar NP3! Stole it. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...f74ef64962.jpg |
Wow... Nice! I really like the grips on the Robar NP3.
|
Wow! Beautiful! I am jealous - so much harder to find anything here in CA that's not an arm and a leg. I am partial to these classic SIGs as well.
|
Great finds!
|
Rick if you have anything you want to sell in 9mm, let me know.
|
Very nice!

Oh, and I have a factory made Poly 80 I'm not in love witgh, but I'm using that one as a model for some of the ghost guns I'm building. Muhahaha.

My latest acquisition
A few days ago I scored one of the new Colt 44 mag Anaconda revolvers with the 8" barrel! With the polished stainless finish, no less! So far all I have run thru it are some light (cowboy) loads. Almost no recoil or muzzle rise at all. A picture;

Thank you for not calling them spoons.

Don’t really need anything, but I’ve always wanted a Kimber 1911 TLE II.

Do you suddenly have the urge to watch Dirty Harry movies? |

I have four P220s, three full size and one carry size. No better gun out there. And I regret the ones I've sold. I can always use more.
|
^ Agreed. They just get better with age.

I can't say I have ever sold one. Maybe that just means I haven't bought enough yet? |
Didn't your FBI go to a 10mm version of the Sig?
|
Sold my 220 stainless to neighbor. he enjoys telling me how nice it is. Ugh.
In practical terms i'll take a 365 but for joy of operation it sure is tough to beat the metal frame models. No plans to give up my 225A1 |

^ That bottom rail can accept a Viridian lights and laser set up.

My Grail gun... The "Walther P99 twotone".
|
A long time ago I had a Solothurn licensed copy of a standard CZ 75. They were available when you couldn't buy Eastern Bloc guns in the US. It was a nice pistol. I had an all black P99 .40 cal, too. Sort of like a Glock, but really cool looking. I also miss the Combat Commander .45 I had.
My Grail gun- a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range... |
"Had?" - What made you sell the P99?
|
I needed money a few years ago and sold everything except the 20 gauge Browning Citori my grandfather gave me. I wasn't shooting anymore, too. I should have tapped into my 401k instead, though. The guy I sold the Beretta to called me about a year ago wanting to know if I had trouble with it jamming. I never did, and offered to buy it back from him. Never heard from him again. I'm sure I could track one down used, but it's not a priority.

CZ85, much the same as a CZ75. I can't believe I sold it, I loved that gun.

BTW, the guy I bought the nickel P226 from is also selling a nickel P225. I'm just not a single stack 9mm guy. |
Going to have some folks over for a range day this afternoon. I am moving to an all 9mm pistol fleet with the exception of my Dad's .45 he carried in Korea and Vietnam.
The below is a Belgium Hi Power I carried when necessary while flying. It rested in my SV-2 and the ship(s) gunners always treated it well. It is my desk gun now. Getting it ready for later today. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1656954882.jpg |
I had seen an ad for a West German Sig 226 that a guy was selling. He was moving to Brazil and had bought it during the Rodney King riots and never fired it. We talked, told him I wanted to buy it but I couldn't break away from set. I arranged to meet him the next day at the local gun shop.
Well, called the next morning to set up a time and he was already at the shop with another buyer. Opportunity missed, first with cash wins I guess. So I ended up picking up a new Sig 226 Nitron. Handles very nice: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1656957375.jpg It's a great companion to my 229 SAS with the DAK trigger system, although I wish this one had a de cocker.... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1656957643.jpg |

I can't count how many people I've seen at the range with lasers on their guns and who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Lasers do absolutely nothing for people who 1) don't train with them, 2) yank the trigger and 3) do not have a total control of their flinch reflex.
When I was at the range yesterday, the guy next to me was shooting an SBR/AR in 5.56. Geezus, that was loud and with some concussion. But it's excellent training for controlling the flinch, which I'm normally excellent at. But with rifle fire 2' from me, it's better training. |
