Bye bye Porsche

Sold my 2010 base Cayman and bought a clean, one owner, never driven in the winter, dealer maintained 2014 Audi TT S Line Quattro, loaded. The Cayman was nice, but didn’t have the “soul” like my 77 Targa had. The Cayman had a cheap radio, sand beige interior that you needed to be careful about scratching the painted plastic surfaces that needed constant touch ups. Suspension squeaks, rear hatch rattle, poorly engineered paddle shifters, on and on. After the issue I had with a broken spark plug on #4 cylinder, I had enough of Porsche. Sold the car, and bought the Audi. Fit and finish, quality interior and options on the Audi rival any of the Porsches (4) I owned. Ride and handling equal to the Cayman, no squeaks, rattles or cheap interior pieces. The Audi is bank vault solid. At my age, I don’t feel like working on cars like I did 15-20 years ago. I had my fun with the Porsche’s I had, but time to move on. So long Porsche, hello Audi…http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1658965678.jpg

George, your wheels are cleaner the gaps in my teeth. Oh yeah, they are a cleaning nightmare. I have a set of HREs and am thinking about taking off the RUF boat anchors

The McGuire cleaner is a game changer! Get those HRE wheels on there! Sell those Ruf abominations! The wheel cleaner may not be good for your teeth, but it dissolves the iron from the brake dust. Black grime in the nooks and crannies I never got out came off with just a spray, a detailing brush and rinse. I found out about it from the below video.

Here is the cleaner: https://www.meguiars.com/automotive/products/meguiars-ultimate-all-wheel-cleaner-g180124-24-oz-spray

Nice car! Sad state of affairs if Audi - which is also a VAG brand has Porsche beat! First time I heard such a bad review of the Cayman. I thought by then the interior issues were overcome. That TT looks the business, just has the engine in the wrong place, especially considering the shape of its body. ;)

I just sold my 991.1 this week end - I sold it for $1000 less than its purchase price..in 2017. I literally drove that car for $15 a month for the past 5.5 years plus gas and tires. It's nuts.

It still fell in value though compared with an asset that held its value. Remember those dollars are worth 30% less than they were 5 years ago.

Great time to sell your car if you aren’t needing a replacement. Most people do buy something else, then it is a wash at best.

I gotta try it, thanks.

I always thing of wheel cleaners are snake oil. The brake dust is baked into my old Land Cruiser's alloy wheels and for a long time, my believe its just pitted and nothing I can do about it, not that I really care. Have you tried others brands that are cheaper? Just asking, maybe there's a reason why its 27 buckaroos because it works?

Of course I haven’t tried any other wheel cleaners! :) Haha. It took me less than 30 minutes to get those Fikse spotless, so it will be worth it to me in the future once a year or so! Give it a try - I’ll send you your money back if it doesn’t work!

You crack me up, Jeff. I should be sponsored by Maguire as one of their influencers.

Call me an old man then - I think the 993 is the prettiest 911 ever built. I had a '97 993 coupe and should have kept that. I would love a '98 S coupe to go with my 914-6.

You all need to get rid of your 993s because of your bad knees. I'll take them off your hands for $40K. :D
