Subscribed. Eagerly awaiting pics and stories. Best of luck!

Given the abundance of advice so far offered I will refrain from adding anymore, albeit always remember to at least try to do the thinking with your big head, rather than the little ditto.

About a year after my divorce I met my now wife in POF. We've been together 10 years! I married her 6 years ago.

If you can find the right one for you then be happy and don't let her go.

If you ask me, the website filters are life-time-money savings. Be selective, why not?

Good luck in your search!

Good luck Shaun,

Be sure to share any advice you pick up along the way!

I’ve had terrible luck meetings any women around our age. I started swing dancing four years ago after some prodding from a co-worker partly thinking I might meet someone, but I rarely see any near my age- most are in their early twenties, super cute and real nice, but no interest in me or at least none that I have picked up on; they always dance and chat with me, so I do have fun. The other ones are ten years older and love to critique how I dance- no kidding.

Dating sites have been a bust and I got off of them at the start of COVID because I was getting depressed. I’m working through a kitchen remodel right now, so may try and get back out there once that is complete. Thought about a match making service that way I am oblivious to all the rejection and only see the woman who decide to meet me.

Looking back, I guess I was ready to step out again,

It has been great - I enjoy her company and we have support for both families which is important. We have grown kids and are grandparents. The hardest part for me was just taking the step to having a friendship and relationship.

You will know when your ready......... All the best.
that is a such a nice story Jim, I'm very happy for you!

I know quite a few women in Shaun's age range that are looking for just that: one night and no commitment.

Good luck on the dating and have a good time.
Confirmed. It's nice seeing women come into their own.

Good luck to everyone on the dating scene no matter what you're looking for, long-term partner or a little bit of fun.

Rutager, sorry to hear of your travails and I think a match making service is best for special people like you. Based purely on your posts alone, you deserve the best. And I'm sure there are few in MN for you, just have someone find them for you.

Definitely was a fun date, talked effortlessly for hours, we'll see. Have another tonight.

Nice to see some good stories and endings/beginnings.

It's fun to meet cool interesting people. But trust me, I have had my fair share of 30 minute dates. Or ones where when they are walking toward you across a park, you are trying to think fast, "how can I not be me" or "should I just run now."

I would think that with your cooking skills Shaun, a nice home cooked meal would be much better than what you could get at a restaurant (cheaper too). You've got "home field advantage", drinks are cheap and if the stars align, the "stabbin' cabin" is only a hop skip and a jump away.

On the flip side, if things aren't moving along so great, how do you politely get them to hit the road?

Do you prefer neutral ground and spend a few bucks or do you prefer to go cheap and do things Au Natural?

I would think that when meeting strangers, you might want to save taking them back to the casa for date #2 or #3. You could run into crazies, and you don't wan them to know where you live.

Yes, I just call my wife to pick me up or start showing photos of the grandkids.
