$810 million

The megamillions draw tomorrow. I suckered, donated $2. If I win, I'll buy the biggest, most badass, most high end tool rollaway and tool collection. Then I would NOT do a youtube toolbox tour video.

Gawd..why did I spend the 2 bucks? If I won, it would ruin my life...

- $810 million in the bank is a problem I'd like to have.

Farmer wins the lottery and when asked what’s he’s going to do with all the money: “ Well, I guess I’ll keep farming until the money runs out!”

Man wins the lottery and calls his wife up and says” Honey, I won the lottery, pack your bags.” Wife says, “ that’s fantastic, where are we going?” Man says “ I don’t care where you go, just don’t be home when I get there.”

I bet a guy could buy a pretty sweet pool hall for that kind of coin...

I bought 3 tickets to Friday's drawing. I always buy a few when the payout gets huge. I give em out as a kind of gag gift.

I kept one, gave my bartender one, and a server working her last day the last one. I didn't win anything. Won't know about the other two until Wednesday.

If no one hits Tuesday I'll buy a few more on Wednesday.

Give it to me if you win. I'll throw myself on that grenade and test your theory. I'll send you Christmas cards as long as the money holds out.

Lotteries are just a tax on the math impaired. I have never bothered just flushing my money.

Good luck!

If you win, burn the ticket.

Film it for TikTok.

How Meta would that be?

You will all be invited to my home in London, or Rome, or Garmisch, or Paris after Tuesday night.

I agree, but when they get this high, I'll throw 2 bucks at a ticket.

Some people call the lottery, "retirement planning"

David 07-25-2022 01:48 PM

Money doesn't solve all your problems... but it solves one.

On the rare occasion that I buy a ticket, I just make sure to enjoy all the time between when I buy and when I loose. Like going on Zillow and finding the most bada$$ house to buy or going on Porsche.com and seeing how expensive I can make a GT2RS.

Yep...couple of bucks can buy a better fantasy than Hollyweird can deliver...and for a longer time.

A funny lotto story for you. A guy was going out for the evening and asked his room mates to write down the lotto numbers for him. They looked around his room and found his ticket, then wrote down a row of numbers on the TV guide. Haha, they gave him that gift, that feeling, he had won big.

I refer to it as the Redneck Retirement Fund.

I look at it as Entertainment, because it is the big "What if" what you would buy if you when, where you would go, ect, ect, .
You are paying for the fantasy, you escape from reality, like when you go to the movies, http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1658785387.jpg

California's lottery is so poorly run, it's sort of amazing that they're still in business. They do everything they can to mess it up.

Like they say... mo money, mo problems.

I'd take my chances. [emoji23]

Given that banks only insure up to $250K most people would fall prey to all manner of scams as how to handle that sum. If me, oh baby would I ever make a lot of people happy.

I'll throw a few bucks at it today. You can't win if you don't play!

I had a buddy come in last week who I've known for years, going back to the Unsolved Mysteries/ America's Most Wanted days. Great guy, always locked into the True Crime/Forensic Files shows which are "bump and run" fast and furious shows.

I asked him about retirement and he gets a grin on his face. "I'm not retiring just yet but I'm going to be able to be more selective in my projects".

He proceeds to tell me that he was in Vegas last month visiting his guitar tech friend for a show by the group Train. He's at the airport waiting to fly back to Burbank and his flight is delayed for an hour. So he throws a $20 in one of the Wheel Of Fortune 25 cent slot machines and on his second pull, bells and lights go off. He won the progressive jackpot $375k.

They cordon off the area, take his picture and inform him that he's going to miss his flight. The Station Casino has the contract for the machines at the airport so they send a limo to take him to the casino to fill out the paperwork. He gets there, they put him up in a suite with freebies to all the bars and restaurants in the casino.

They write him a check for $16k (which would be the amount of the first payment if you took the installment plan) and informed him that if he wanted lump sum it would be $260k after taxes. Walked him to the casino cage and told them to "take care of him and cash his check if he so desired".

He took his check straight up to his room and deposited at his bank when he flew in the next day (he said the balance was deposited within 2 days), he's no dummy.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, I'm really happy for him.
