I have the Chinesium Swing-Away, the old school Swing Away, and the locking Oxo one shown above. The Oxo is the best one, but the door mounted Swing Away is my go-to. That's because it's just convenient to not have to dig through a drawer. But for clean, 100% reliable can opening with no go'rounds, the Oxo can opener is the best one. It opens the can on the first try each time.

I'm sure that's what I bought last night. $21 thru Amazon.

It's competition will be the handful of Dollar Tree ones I have in the drawers.

Daughter has Prime. Buy me this Swing Away for $21 and I'll Zelle you the money, I say. Does not come the next day so Amazon reimburses her. I buy the EZ Duz It brand made in the USA for $11.

Both openers arrive the same day. Two for $11. She says I owe you $9. I said keep it for service provided to the elderly.

I tried the Swing Away. What a treat to feel the mechanical parts work so smoothly.

Bought the EZ Duz It as made in the USA. Reviews were pretty good.

After looking at the pictures, it’s not the same opener but it’s heavy duty.

My can opener.

We regularly find these at garage sales for less than a dollar and sell them on ebay for $20. They work very, very well and when kept clean, will last a lifetime. Problem is, people open cans of fruit or tomatoes and the sugar gums up the blades (which are supposed to turn) and then they don't work. When they don't work, they get bent because people force them. The USA ones are stainless so just rinse them after use if you get food on them. But you have to buy used since the new ones are Chinese that rust just looking at them.
You were right I went to a rummage sale last week and found one for .50 lol

Yep, every pack of C-rations included one. Some guys kept a spare hanging on the chain with their dog tags.

Another vote for Swing-a-Way. Have had one for years...still works like new.
