Must resist the temptation.. This is rare, most of these guitars were blond...And I've wanted this guitar since it was released in the late 70's.. If it didn't have to be shipped from Australia, I'd probably buy ... I'm just worried about it being shipped that distance

I'm pleased to see that the value or the Ibanez Artist single cut that I have has increased in value.. Though I'm not selling..

I always look for things out of the ordinary... like boutique tube amps

I am picking up one of these... A whopping half watt....I'll be able to get some nice tones without having to manipulate the signal (pedals) .. just wish it had an effects loop for the pedals I do use delay, loop, compressor, etc..

And these amps caught my eye

The SA near me isn't closing. It's usually a ghost town in there and with a ton of real estate. But they've been getting a little better each time I'm there, and I did have to snag a Marshall JCM800 they were almost giving away a month ago.

Anyone interested in a Gibson Limited Edition Jimmy Page Double neck guitar?
Only $50,000 each (plus sales tax).

saw that. no. i did just get an SG Special last week. after changing out the bridge it’s now maybe my favorite out of 16 guitars and the least expensive guitar i have. plays and sounds amazing.

TimT 03-22-2024 03:49 PM

I'm jonesing to get an SG...

When I was taking lessons in 1980 or so my teacher had a bunch of even then vintage guitars... I sometimes played the SG.... it just played easy..

Many times I tried to get him to sell me the SG to no avail..

Must resist Reverb

another Gibson gimmick. Like the Gene Simmons thunderbird. WAY over priced.

I bought my daughter a black Gretsch 5435 lefty yesterday, we were eying it up at the guitar store where we take lessons for the past couple weeks and she played it a bit last Monday. It looked mint in the store but upon getting it home and cleaning it up, she found some ‘experience’.

It was only $345 and includes a setup in the next 3 months and a warranty.

I played it a bit tonight (I tried left but switched to upside down) and OMG, that thing is amazing. It plays very nicely. She loves it.

On another front, I took my son to guitar lessons last night as my daughter was too tired after 3 days of ski race training. He brought my (now his) Strat. He loved it and is going to start doing lessons now too.

These are pretty funny. 1:4 scale, pretty cute. Lots of them on Amazon, etc. Axe Heaven miniature guitars... start at $27.44. Lots of choices.

This is basically what she got, except hers is a lefty version…

At guitar tonight, our instructor was so excited when Grace pulled it out of her case. She plays an old Chet Atkins Gretsch and absolutely loved Grace’s new one. God, it’s got such a great sound and needs nothing except to be played… more.

I got the Jerry Garcia collection, one Phil Lesh and a couple Bob Weir guitars from them for my birthday last month. Some are better than others and one was wrong and had to be replaced. Pretty cool though.

A hundred years is a long time in business but the last 10 would have felt like a thousand in the age of digitalisation, with online sales presenting physical retail outlets across all sectors with an existential challenge. Simply more and more players are preferring to buy their electric guitars online.
I currently have 5 guitars, 3 of them were bought online......

My little girl as we walked to our online guitar lesson in my office on Monday night.

She has her first gig tomorrow (on her 11th birthday) at the school talent show.
