Every time you got in it felt like the atmosphere of Venus and took 30 minutes to get it cooled down under max A/C.

I am down to 4 cars now and 3 are white, one is silver.
This exactly! Black with black leather is the worst…have to open the door and wait 10 minutes before you can even sit down. Consequently one white and one silver here.

I've had three .... bought a white Subaru when I moved to FL as a youngin'... no frills, no AC, heat factored in. Before I bought my 911, I had a beautiful Pearl white Lexus SC 400 .... gave my gf a sweetheart deal on it ... beautiful, minty car! Now I've had a white F150 for years ..... NEVER again.... no mas!

I've had to walk home from Home Depot three times because I couldn't find mine in the parking lot !

Fleets use white as it nets the most value at the end of life, to auction.

White is my favorite Porsche color...Germany's historic racing color before Hitler changed it to silver.
Alas I have 3 Porsches in the house currently and none are white LOL.

Also it's easy to color match and is the most forgiving for body work.

And with a burgundy interior the perfect color combo!

I will admit I might have a very slight prejudice.

It's the natural outcome of the appliance-ization of cars. Make them all lookalike tall wagons where you can't tell what company made it without looking at the badge.

I thought that was dark grey? Every SUV around here is some shade of dark grey.

The color of my Civic, Sonic Pearl Gray, has been very good for not showing dust and dirt.
I think part of the reason is the ceramic coating that I applied. The dirt just doesn't stick like it does to my other cars.

White is often the cheapest choice for manufactures since it often doesn’t require a clear coat.

When I had the opportunity to buy a commuter car new, I made sure it was white. It had to sit out on the driveway, out in the weather, and white is the easiest to keep looking new.
By the time I traded it in I'd polished it so much all the orange peel was gone from the paint and it looked better than new since it was so flat.

Many moons ago I heard that the CA CHP said white was the safest color- easiest to see overall daytime or nighttime. I was never fond of it, but had to get it when I got a 1997 Subaru Legacy special edition. It was the only one around. Then a couple of years ago I got a Tesla Model 3 in pearl white- I think it was the only no charge color. I wanted red, but it would have been $2,000 more and I probably would have got $1,000 less for it when I sold it, so it wasn't worth $3,000 to me. I like it enough now, but I like reds, blues, and greens now.

White is the most functional color. And one of the most boring. It is also, according to my understanding, a difficult color for body/paint guys to match.

If you are mixing light this is true.

If you are mixing pigments the opposite is true.

It's why you can spot paintwork on a Silver car from space.

It's those silver flakes of aluminium (or something) and the angle they lie down in, in the paint. It's always going to reflect light differently. Just my thoughts. I'm wrong every second time.

White paint reflects nearly everything, black paint absorbs nearly everything. Absorbing nearly everything turns into heat. I say nearly everything because I doubt many cars are pure white or pure black. Matching paint can be a little sloppily with blending, which tricks the eye into not noticing the color difference. A friend of mine who used to own a high-end bodyshop said black was the hardest to match.

PDR is so good when possible and done by a good technician.
