Evans, Marv 08-04-2023 02:55 PM

30 cent jump of the county average here to $5.25.

stevej37 08-04-2023 03:06 PM

They are blaming this summers hot temps for the price increases.

“While the heat may be keeping people home, it’s also keeps refineries from making refined product,” Gross explained, noting that refineries are typically designed to operate between 32 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit (0 and 35 degrees Celsius). “They don’t like temperature extremes because they’re inherently dangerous places... So they dial back the production for safety purposes, but that then constrains supply.”

JackDidley 08-07-2023 01:25 PM

$3.39 and $4.09 at Sams today.

stevej37 08-15-2023 12:54 PM

$3.81 for reg.
$4.81 for prem.

The dollar price spread continues here.

Zeke 08-15-2023 12:59 PM

$5.39 for 91. Well, $5.49 using a card.

VINMAN 08-15-2023 04:29 PM

Diesel up to $4.29..

.

fintstone 08-15-2023 04:34 PM

A couple of the more expensive gas stations around here are $6/gal for 91. But Costco is just a tick over $5/gal for 87. Costco is usually about 10% cheaper than most local gas stations.

VINMAN 08-16-2023 06:07 AM

Diesel up another 10 cents overnight..
WTF??

Flat Six 09-29-2023 01:50 PM

87: $5.60
89: $5.91
91: $6.15

Diesel: $5.27

Add $0.05/gal for credit card

stevej37 09-29-2023 02:00 PM

^^^ Ouch!

We're at $3.26/reg and $4.26/prem

JavaBrewer 09-29-2023 04:05 PM

Saw 91: $6.69 at a couple stations today

JackDidley 09-29-2023 04:18 PM

$3.28 and $3.98 at Sams today. I quit buying 93. Now using 87 + octane booster.

Evans, Marv 09-29-2023 08:35 PM

Average for 87 in the county is about $6.30. This whole scenario is insane.

look 171 10-09-2023 10:29 PM

gas gone through the roof

Needed my truck today, so I filled up the Duramax. I had a little under a 1/4 tank left, but the fill up waswas 170 bucks. 25 gal at 6.85. I see 93 octane gas for over 7 bucks. WTF? How much per gal at your place? I watched it go up in the past couple months.

speeder 10-09-2023 10:49 PM

You must have really bought at the wrong place, gas and diesel actually went down in recent days but it's still high. Diesel is $5.99 at my corner station, filled up this morning. Granted, it is a Mobil with possibly the best prices in town. $6.20 at a lot of places.

It could shoot up if the ME catch on fire...that is to say that the current conflict expands past Gaza and the settlements. :(

look 171 10-09-2023 11:34 PM

I haven't seen it below 6 bucks for months. Where is this station? At those prices, a fill up can mean 15 bucks difference. I was up in Los Feliz near the Greek Theater all day.

KFC911 10-10-2023 12:56 AM

I figured the recent events would have triggered a spike... but nope... noticed it was down to 3.15 near my house yesterday.

A930Rocket 10-10-2023 01:23 AM

I paid $3 for regular unleaded yesterday.

WPOZZZ 10-10-2023 01:30 AM

$4.39 for super

rfuerst911sc 10-10-2023 02:29 AM

$2.99 a gallon for 87 at some stations here . Diesel at $3.99 at some and $4.05 at others . Our governor has suspended the gas tax for a limited time , that has lowered the price by 30 cents a gallon .

slow&rusty 10-10-2023 04:21 AM

There is an app you can download (Gas Buddy) that will let you know which stations in your area has the best prices.

In Houston 87 Octane is at $2.75/gallon

UconnTim97 10-10-2023 04:30 AM

$3.75 a gallon for 87 and about $4.60 for diesel around here.

flatbutt 10-10-2023 05:36 AM

This is nuts. Up my way gas is $3-$3.30 / gallon but 40 miles south of me it's close to $5/gallon.

RNajarian 10-10-2023 06:05 AM

On October 8, 2023 I refueled on base at Port Hueneme CA (Naval Base Ventura County) for $5.26 a gallon (91 octane.) Right outside the gate 91 octane is $6.39

I feel for the guy living paycheck to paycheck.

Zeke 10-10-2023 06:46 AM

I think 87 is 5.99 in Long Beach. The Jag needs 91 so 6.49. I gave the cashier 60 bucks and I didn't get 10 gallons. Meanwhile the recession has killed the antiques trade so work is scarce.

Edit: I was mistaken or the price went up overnight. 87 is $6.39. 91 is pushing 7 bucks. That means it's $8 in downtown L.A.

john70t 10-10-2023 07:06 AM

It was about 3.80 for 87 about a week ago.

Chocaholic 10-10-2023 07:32 AM

Regular is about 3.20/gal here in LA (Lower Alabama).

Corner of Olympic and Western. Corner of Olympic and Wilton as well. Also, the two stations on LaCienega and Cadillac, one block north of the 10 freeway. Those are the cheapest diesel I've consistently found in LA County. I buy a fair amount of diesel and almost zero gasoline.

speeder 10-10-2023 08:02 AM

You never want to buy diesel at a small station with high prices, it does not get turned over often enough and water contamination risk is much higher.

Evans, Marv 10-10-2023 09:27 AM

There is celebration going on in S.D. county because the average has dropped below $6.00. Of course diesel is more expensive. I had a diesel station wagon in the late 70s/early 80s. I put a 40 gallon tank in it and could go down to T.J. to fill it up for around $5.00 (@ around 13 cents per gallon). Quite a contrast. I don't know what gasoline & diesel are selling for in Mexico now.

stevej37 10-10-2023 09:37 AM

$3.33 for reg here today. A dollar more for prem.

Good price for regular but crazy spread for premium!

Ayles 10-10-2023 10:36 AM

Just filled up my 911 on Sunday total was $120.00 for Ethanol Free. I think it was around $6.40 a gallon at my local indy gas station. Might be the most I have ever paid for a fill up.

911boost 10-10-2023 10:41 AM

My Excursion had a 44 gallon tank, that one could be painful to fill up.

I paid right around $4 a gallon for 87 here in CO. Have not filled up my truck lately but see diesel a bit more.

I've always bought prem for the 98 Prelude...it requires it. The spread was always 60 cents between reg and prem.
About the time of Covid, the stations all increased the spread to a dollar.

I found a phone number for the MI dept of fuel regulation and asked the question of 'why?'
The man said that it all depends on the usage of prem compared to reg.
He said that if the usage was equal..the price spread would be narrower.

I don't know if I believe all that.

Welcome to my 35 gallon gas tank V10 thirsty beast.

10 mpg.

Any time it drives I better be hauling something.

speeder 10-10-2023 11:54 AM

I'm surprised that thing manages 10 mpg, tbh.

look 171 10-10-2023 03:49 PM

I know we have a very high gas tax that goes into someone's pocket but it is normally a buck or buck and a half more but this siht is getting scary at almost twice as much as some places you boys mentioned.

450knotOffice 10-10-2023 05:37 PM

$3.37 at my local Mobil station in Port Salerno, FL. $4.07 for Premium.

I see it’s $5.86 and $6.17 at the Shell station I used to frequent in Mission Viejo, in south Orange County, CA.
