I saw $2.33 at a Sheetz yesterday on I75. I pulled in to fill up the pig and every single pump was down. Had to go across the street to Loves and fill up at $2.44. It was weird. Right in that area gas was $2.33 to $2.45 but a few miles in either direction it was over $3.

Stopped at Murphy's (Walmart) for gas...sign said $2.68/reg. Started filling with premium and looked down at the selector and it said $3.98/prem.
$1.30...highest spread I've seen. Just a few years ago it was always 60 cents in MI

Not anymore around here. I'm seeing consistently $0.40+ difference between 87 and 91. Makes a dent in the wallet when I need gas for the Jag.

Haven't paid much attention to the gas prices lately....surprised how low.
Reg $2.40/gal....Prem $3.63/gal....a $1.23 spread...crazy Yesterday I filled the can with 90 octane non-ethanol and it was $4.85/gal

Yes we were. If I remember correctly, it was pushing the $6.50 level. The highest I've ever seen was in Death Valley a few years ago at over $8.00. I think I posted a picture here of the price sign at the station.

Gas prices are going to get ugly in 2026 where I live. 2 refineries are closing in my state. Right now I pay ~ $5/gal but if the news is correct, rarely, it will be closer to $8 in early 2026.
To keep this out of the other OT forum...I have no idea who is responsible

Both Phillips and Valero are closing refineries due to poor economics. California has such onerous gasoline specs that refiners have a hard time making the gasoline needed. Also, fuel is exported out of state to places with less stringent fuel specs. I read fuel in CA may get to $8.00/ gal. I guess we'll find out.

Data point: Gas is $2.199 in Houston at my local Kroger. With my $0.30 discount, I paid $1.899 today filling "Blanco", ~25 gallons. Last fill was October...

$2.89 in the big city.... $2.42 in Van Wert and it was $2.38 in Lima the other day.. The big city of Delphos clearly has a supply/demand issue.
Maybe Speedway, Marathon, Circle K and Love's all knew I'd be needing to fill up the pig causing a supply shortage.

I’ve been burning gas like crazy this summer. The truck holds 31 gallons, so prices on a fill-up can make a big difference. Prices have yo-yoed all summer. I’ve driven past gas stations where the price changed by 30 cents in 4 hours. I’ve been trying to time the market and fill up when I think it’s hit a low. I felt like I hit the lottery when I filled up at $2.43 last week, and it went up to $2.89 a day or so later.

Prices all over around here. In La Crosse, $2.479 or $2.379 by the mall. Go just south of town and it goes to $2.599. I drove to Mankato MN today. Usually it's cheaper in St Charles MN, but no, $2.499. Byron MN the odd outlier at $2.899. Got to Waseca, back to $2.379, Mankato $2.499 to $2.519.
I believe Premium has crept up here to $1.20 more than regular, but our Premium is 91 octane no ethanol. Used to be $1.00 split. |
