Tom Hanks' best movie?
Saw it in the theater in South Florida when it premiered with my girlfriend, her sister and sister's husband, a retired German boxing champion. Blown away doesn't describe it.....what an evening! Best two scenes.....

Agree...good cast for the '84 Hopkins/Gibson version. Saw it when it came out in the theater.
Many argue the '35 with Laughton/Gable version to be the best, but my fav. has always been the '62 version. Every one of these films took more than their fair share of artistic license with the actual facts of the story....which is actual quite fascinating..... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutiny_on_the_Bounty

Watched this movie (again) in it's entirety last night. I've seen it countless times before but for me it's one of those movies you never get tired of watching, for the most part.
I've also grown to appreciate the nuance and story lines not to mention the screenplay, filming, and editing that went into this production. It was very well done, IMHO! Sure...we've seen oodles of "natural disaster" movies.....which is another reason I had to make mention of this one standing out a bit. This fantastic segment is a perfect example of how it keeps you on the edge of your seat.....

A SciFi classic from 1971!
The special effects were designed by Douglas Trumbull. The film is notable for its use of split screen in certain scenes. He and director Robert Wise would re-unite 10 years later in a big way for Star Trek: the Motion Picture.

^ Great movie- written by Michael Crichton. I read the book because I liked the movie.
Now where's my can of squeeze?...

If I'd been at sea for most of a year and a woman did that in front of me my heart would explode at the 1:50 mark.

In the Name of the Father is a 1993 biographical crime drama film co-written and directed by Jim Sheridan. It is based on the true story of the Guildford Four, four people falsely convicted of the 1974 Guildford pub bombings that killed four off-duty British soldiers and a civilian.
Good movie!

One of Kevin Kline's best movies, IMO. Even Hayden Christensen shows he's got some acting chops.
