Best thing I've seen Rutger Hauer do. A great cast here. |
In this scene, the actor playing Uncle Billy (Thomas Mitchell) improvised "I'm alright, I'm alright!" to cover for a crew member who dropped a tray of props. Frank Capra liked the take, used it in the film, and paid the gaffer $10 for accidentally improving the scene.

This is such a good movie. A worthy sequel.

Linda Hamilton's identical twin sister Leslie appeared in a few scenes of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. She passed in 2020 at 63 years old. She was an ER and Hospice nurse. I never heard of this.

I watched it last night...reminded me of what a great movie it truly is. If you've never seen it - might be worth checking out. It was a "surprise" hit the year it came out. No special effects....just great acting, great dialogue, and a great plot. We lost Louis Gossett, Jr. at age 86 last year. He won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, first ever African American to do so. His acting was fantastic in it.

My Dad took us kids to see this one when it was first released in '65. He loved it!
Whole movie is fantastic! The pie fight is a fun segment...... <iframe width="911" height="386" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SDJQ7zn3-2g" title="The Great Pie Fight" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Watched this one last night. "Manhunter" from 1986 directed and written by Michael Mann.
Whole movie is excellent with a lot of great scenes. This one though....pivotal as Agent Graham figures out how exactly the "Tooth Fairy" crimes were connected. <iframe width="911" height="387" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8Y3c0UCPLbM" title="Manhunter Will Graham figures it out." frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

"Night Moves" 1975 Directed by Arthur Penn. Gene Hackman, Susan Clark, Jennifer Warren, James Woods, and a bunch of other notables including a young Melanie Griffith who was only 16 when her nude underwater scenes were filmed so the film wasn't released until she turned 18.
I posted a different scene from the same movie upstream. <iframe width="724" height="404" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8vmtOOEhfZU" title="Gene Hackman & James Woods - Night Moves (1975) HD" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

If you haven't seen Downfall, I would recommend it. Hitler's last days in his bunker. German movie. On a lighter note, this clip has had the subtitles changed to make fun of bad news, and they're great.

Midnight Cowboy was a true ground breaker. Originally issued an R rating, the studio opted to make it an X due to its homosexual themes. Then it won the Oscar for best picture and reverted back to an R. I need to watch it again- it's been many years. I've heard Jon Voight is considered one of the nicest guys in Hollywood- perhaps craigster59 has some insight.

Only Friedkin could make a car-stripping scene so utterly compelling.
