I enjoyed the mentoring role of Brian Keith's character (Alex Cord) in Nevada Smith. Talk about casting the perfect actor for that role.....couldn't do any better!

Baz, when I started this thread, I'd just watched the scene in FD where Michael Douglas 'connects' (ha ha) with the gangbangers on the concrete steps out in the field, and that was going to be my first post, but I forgot about it! I'm glad you posted this one!

But speaking of movies chock full of great clips, is there a single scene from this movie that is not an absolute classic bit of film worthy of an Oscar?

Went to see this when it first came out with my 2 best buddies. I was living alone at the time and when they dropped me off at my house afterwards, very late at night naturally, I remember I was freaking scared chitless that something was going to jump out at me from the bushes! From 1979 and directed by Ridley Scott.....

^^^ Good one, Herr Oberst! Nominated for 5 academy awards, incl. best picture. The ending scene with Newman not answering his phone is classic! And how about the performances of Lindsay Crouse and Jack Warden, of course....well we could go down that rabbit hole of Jack Warden movies quite easily, eh?

Speaking of Jack Warden movies, from 1978, directed by Warren Beatty and Buck Henry and nominated for 9 Oscars, incl. best picture....the ending is my fav. scene and you'd have to watch the movie to really appreciate it.....Julie Christie.....so beautiful and what a performance here.....
