Not sure what others think but I hold the achievement of winning this event in the same regard as a win at the Le Mans 24hrs, Isle of Man TT, Indy 500, Monaco F1 GP
You need to be fast, brave and clever in equal measure

Imagine being penalized for speeding during a race.

My thinking is all the races I mentioned are very hard core and at the extreme end for each racing discipline
Had an enjoyable evening at the pub a few weeks ago sat next to the technical director of one of this years Dakar T1 car teams which are the fastest category I'd love to work on a Dakar or Trophy Truck project, I'd be so far out of my 'fast car' comfort zone I'd be the newbie that knows nothing and starting from zero knowledge again

I’m confused about the speeding penalty bit. Are these something like high-speed TSD stages?
Love the 1984 video. Did not realize that Vic Elford and Jochen Mass were still racing then.
