This one in the pic, I watched the oldest turtle bury in a nesting box I built.
She was going crazy scratching up everything trying to dig a hole to lay her eggs. As soon as I parked the sand filled box next to the turtles platform...it took less then 10 minutes for her to dig and bury one egg. I've tried to incubate the eggs...never works. I think all turtles dig and bury them if possible.

Methinks you are right about all turtles .... don't have many snappers, but lots of sliders still.... and I relocated over 50 sliders a few years back. All the egg shells I see are white .... and small .... probably sliders.

Well I guess I won't be getting my Gulfstream, Mansion in La Jolla, Mansion in LV, Bentley, Ferrari, Lambo and 100 ft Motor Yacht that I lost on a Bitcoin margin call back anytime soon.

Just a thought. Instead of one big-ass prize, why not 1,350 $1,000,000 prizes. Increase the odds a bit for more people to strike it rich. If the jackpot is at $100,000,000, then 100 $1,000,000 prizes. From a marketing consideration. Of course, the multi-state numbers racket mob isn't really too concerned about marketing.

^^^ Don't they already do that with a 5, 4, 3, or 2 matching numbers?
I heard that if you match 2 numbers...you win $10 and up from there. 5 will get you around a million.

Well, this is a little reassuring...
I think in many states there is a 90 day wait period so the winner can get their affairs in order. Winners are often advised by financial experts to not tell anyone that they've won, only some states allow winners to remain anonymous. Carolyn Becker, a spokesperson with the California State Lottery, emphasized that only the name of the winner is released in the state as this follows the state’s Public Records Act. In California, the winner’s name is considered public record and the state lottery said a winner's full name, the name and location of the retailer that sold the ticket, and the amount of the winnings, including the gross and net installment payments, are all subject to disclosure. 'Public is entitled to know how we do our work' The North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries, which is a nonprofit professional trade association that represents all government-sanctioned lotteries in North America, says players cannot remain anonymous in most participating jurisdictions. “State and provincial lawmakers want the public to know that the lottery is honestly run and so require that at a minimum the name of the winner and their city of residence be made public,” its website states. “This way the public can be reassured that the prize really was paid out to a real person.” |
