The car is complete but not completely together, seller says all the parts are there to put it back together but just doesn't have the time to finish it. Paint and all look good in pics, we will see how it looks in person. He says the body and frame are solid, taking a couple of lights and a magnet with me, lol. The engine has been rebuilt as well as the transmission and there is an extra transmission included. The seller told me it has too many parts to list that are included with the car and says the only thing the car is missing is the exhaust, it has the exhaust manifold but nothing from there on back, which is fine because I would put a Monza system under it anyway. It looks like it would be a good project for me and my son to put the car together and enjoy.

The Monza system is awful. Way way too loud. Unless you can find an Ansa (GLWT) stock stainless is the way to go.

Great little cars. I'd take a TR6 or an MGB these days.
TR6 is the winner as far as collectible appreciation though.

I had a TR7 once... But it wedged itself under a black angus bull.

I’ve always loved the TR6. A Pelican friend’s neighbor bought one for his dad. I was standing in the driveway a couple months ago when he pulled it out of the garage. He said I could drive it around the block so i did. I drove barefoot so my feet would fit. It was neat, a great opportunity, but… what’s that saying about meeting your heros?

I had a Monza system on my 1976 model and I loved the way it sounded, but I was a bit younger then, lol. There is a really nice looking system by Abarth on ebay that is very pricey but looks soooooo nice!!!

Well, my son and I looked at the TR this morning. It is a very solid car. The frame and body are very solid and I didn't see any rust whatsoever, the trunk and floor pan, both solid. The driver's side rocker has a small dent at the pinch seam bit no rust and there is a small dent under the passenger side door and again, no rust. The deck lid has a couple of very small dings at the rear edge and that's about it. The car does come with a ton of parts and even has a brand new carpet kit still in the plastic, brake rotors still in boxes and a whole bunch of parts in the trunk and interior. I was told the engine had been rebuilt but judging by the grime I saw around the oil pan it must've been many years ago. The car was originally brown and whoever painted it the color that it is now didn't prep very well and the paint is literally flaking off the body on edges and tops of the driver's door.
I say it is a solid car as far as the frame and body and would make a nice project for someone who has the time and it would need to be stored indoors as well as the top would need to be replaced immediately I'df stored outside. So, I have reached the conclusion that even though I think it is a sold TR, it is more of a project than I had anticipated and therefore I am walking away from this one, but hey my son thinks they are cool cars so, hmmm, maybe I will just look for a driver in the future.

I think the only way to not wind up buried in a TR6 is to buy one that's already been done for less than the legitimate cost to make it nice.

Current screenshot of local craigslist.
Been eyeing up that Lotus for well over a year!
All the same owner, he has quite the collection.

Yeah I saw that purple or magenta TR6 a few days ago, not my color of choice but it did have a nice looking engine with the aluminum valve/rocker cover and the twin down draft webers!!! Price isn't bad either.

Downdrafts rob about 10hp.
And there’s so much on tap stock...

That’s dyno 10hp, not I don’t think it’s as good hp, btw.

There’s also no need for triples unless your engine is heavily modded (past 140hp or so) and Weber’s and ZS produce the same peak hp. Since I’m pontificating there’s no hp difference between EFI and carbs from a peak HP perspective (there is on driveability) and the stock exhaust is not restrictive at all.

And paint costs a TON. Buy someone else’s baby.

The transmission in the picture is an extra one that comes with the car.

These pics are from the listing. Don't know why it was listed as a "Tesla", typo I presume.

I forgot Tesla made those in the '70s.

Looks like the top ones have roughly doubled in the last 5 years on BaT.

It seems strange that he doesn’t install the tail lights, headlight, etc. Simple things that will make it look and present so much better.
