3300 is pretty cheap. Put a mere 35k into it and you’ll have a very nice 20k TR6.

I have a Pimento Red 73 model. Many years ago it was imported into Australia from East LA so it was nearly rust free.
It was an abandoned car so needed refurbishment . I saved these tasks for my retirement project. I have converted it to a UK-like car - RHD, *Lucas petrol injection, O/Drive gearbox with 3.45 diff ratio. The downside is that I (like the car) have aged and the TR6 has a lower level of comfort than my 78 A/C 911. The Plus side is that parts are very cheap compared to the 911. I have installed some Miata seats. This was only meant to be temporary fix to pass our Engineering standards for headrests, however I have grown to like them. I suggest you look out for a suitable set yourself. All the mechanical parts are big heavy lumps of british iron so I hope your wife will assist you when you have to manoeuvre those big heavy engines & gboxes around. I really miss the strength I used to have in my youth!!!! Hope you are successful & we can assist you with advice tips & traps.

Yesterday when looking at the car, I was looking at the dash and flipped the little ashtray open and there inside it was the hazard/flasher knob. I laughed and told this story. When I got my 76 TR and was trying things out, flipping switches and all, I pulled on the hazard knob and it worked!!! The turn signals were flashing like they should but, after about 30 seconds I heard a sizzling sound and a little cloud of smoke started wafting from behind the wood dash exiting around the base of the hazard/flasher knob. When seeing what was happening, I quickly pushed the knob in cutting the flashers off. I had that car for many years and never turned those flashers on ever again. Lol.

TR6 would be perfect for my ideal of "low speed hooligan". LSH is where you can give it full throttle, spin the rears, hang the tail out, all sorts of hooliganism, while never driving at unsafe speeds, even in town. Only possible with select cars of yesteryear, which are therefore the funnest cars. I've always thought TR6s were the most attractive of the affordable British roadsters.

Two cars that I'd love to have, TR-6 or an AH 3000.

I grew up in Niceville, Florida and we had a pretty cool neighborhood. I had my TR6, my sister had a 280ZX, the neighbor next door had an Austin Healey 3000, a kid down the street had a 240Z and a neighbor across the street had a 67 Firebird.

Having owned, in turn, a TR3A, TR6 and TR8 (i.e. I am a glutton for punishment) I really do think the article below is mandatory reading for anyone considering ownership of a classic British sports car:
