I'm going out now to get some Woodford's Double for an OF tonight. Stopped using the Blanton's which is better for sipping and relaxing than in a cocktail.

I like a sip of bourbon now and then. I can't really name a brand I like best, and I'm definitely not a fanatic.

I went to the liquor store one Saturday morning last summer and there were tents and campers in the parking lot. When I got inside there was a line of probably 20 people. I asked them WTF? and the guy told me they release the allotment of some kind of special bourbon that morning. The store had been allotted X number of bottles and the guys were lined up to make sure they were customer number X+1.

A friend had this in his hands today. He was allowed to hold it long enough to take a pic.

It was changing hands in a parking lot for $ 4,800.

If you really want Blanton's, Buffalo Trace puts out a pallet load every 3-4 days or so on the gift shop shelves. 1 bottle per person every 3 months.

It has been several years now, but I remember really liking Booker's even though it was pretty strong. I bought a bottle for my brother a couple years ago ($80ish) as a gift and he loved it. If you are interested in trying a really strong bourbon, don't mind spending the money, and can find it, I'd recommend Booker's.

Has anyone here gotten one of the big round ice cube makers? I just use one normal cube but might be nice to have the one big one for more surface area.

I use large squares from an Amazon silcone tray-its nice, slower melt, doesn't dilute as much.

My brother-in-law has a mold or something that makes the big crystal clear ice balls. He mostly drinks his bourbon neat from a Glencairn glass though.

I'm wondering...sure seems to me it would be an easy peasy chore to counterfeit those super spendy bourbons. Matter of fact, in the movie "color of money", an early scene had liquor salesman Paul Newman (Fast Eddie) explaining how it was done...

Has happened, see ebay for how much some of the empty bottles sell for. Couple that with the fact that most people haven’t tasted the most expensive bottles and wouldn’t know the difference.

Anyone "fat wash" their Bourbon? My wife and I spent some time in a bourdon course in Nashville. Not a bourbon drinker but I am going to try the fat washing with bacon. Uhmmm bacon
