Went to my kid's volleyball game this afternoon up in the foothills. Rained, 42 degrees. That is cold for us. Snow level was down to about 1500-1700'. Sure not CA weather around here.

My driveway is under there somewhere at 5600 feet.

The berm is over 3 feet tall and will be ice by the time we can come up.
The local handyman will have it removed before we come up. They have rented a tractor.
They actually had to sleigh down to the house to check it for me.

I love SoCal.

Was talking to my grandson and asked him if it snowed at their house. No, but it snowed on track practice, which is a bit freaky

Everything is closed going to Tahoe since last night

I think we topped out at 83º today. It's muggy compared to yesterday too. Fri-Sun are going to be spectacular again, beautiful and super low humidity.

I'd say that some of you folks need to move, but there's nothing wrong with snow or rain or cold as long as you're expecting it.

I want to retire West of you. Near Alpine, TX. Nice dark skies for astro photography, no humidity, high elevation and small town.

It’s like a war zone here. Trees down, roads not plowed and still snowing. The last three days have been crazy. No sooner than I plow the driveway it’s covered again . I have run out of places to dump the snow. I have shoveled my deck six times. I’m tired.

That's about 470 miles west. Yep, that would probably do the trick, and would be great for AP!

I've spent some time in Cali, but most of that was in the 1999-2001 timeframe. It was mostly spent in San Jose and Irvine and areas near them. The weather was always beautiful, 60º-80º and low humidity. I'm not sure that I've ever seen rain or snow when I was in Cali. It was always a nice place to visit.

I'm thinking that the silver lining in Cali is the big bite this will take out of the drought.

Definitely a silver lining, but mostly for the short term. The central valley of CA grows a large percentage of fruits & veges for the country and export. They've been drawing water from the underlaying aquafir enough to drop the ground level up to ten inches in places. That's the thing that needs replacing for the long term.

I hear that the best way to refill an underground aquifer is for all of the rain and snow run off to be channeled through concrete channels right to the ocean!
