Enjoying the show so far, but yeah, not as much the music they make, kinda suspends disbelief a little (you're that successful playing "that?"). there's a scene with an early 911 and Pagoda in the garage too..

190 is not a Pagoda but Daisy drove a White one. |

I haven't seen the show so I don't know if FZ is even portrayed. IDK who is supposed to be portrayed but the original people from Mama Cass' dominion were quite a crop. |

There was a lot they could have done with it but didn't. |

I skipped through E. 1 &2 and thought this isn't for me. I've lived 35 miles from LC most of my life and I didn't see one thing I can relate to. Well, maybe the walk across the street to the Whisky, but sneaking in the back door, uh, no.

A few episodes somewhere between 6-9 were hard to watch - but the last one (Ep10) was really really good. Cleverly built going back and forth in time and putting a nice bow on the story. I liked it ! If you put in some time and dropped off, at least watch the last one as it's a nice and unexpected wrap up.

Up to like episode 6. Watching with the wife. Not bad. Probably a 7 out of 10. Don't hate the music It's actually better than a lot of other shows/movies about bands I've watched. Not Val Kilmer in the Doors movie good, but certainly passable.

I used to follow Frank Zappa.
I saw him at the Forum on New Years Eve in 1975, along with Captain Beefheart. And many other places. The world lost a great musical talent when he passed. He was also a free speech advocate. Another thing that he would say frequently, and I agree with 100%, was, tax the churches. That's probably why they killed him. |
Watched a really good documentary on Zappa recently. He was more active politically than I had remembered. A very bright, creative guy.
Got through episode 3 of Six. That was all I could take. It was becoming very predictable and way too much drama. |
I really liked the entire series. I thought the music was good and the story was entertaining.

Certainly a narcissist and definitely chaotic but in a different way. Beth is motivated by and acts out of pure loyalty. She's actually fine if you don't disrespect her or threaten that which she cares about. Her posture is mostly defensive even when she takes the first shot across the bow it's just her being preemptive. Her chaos is calculated and controlled, for the most part. We like Beth because even when she is doing some f'd up **** we know she's right / justified. Daisy is just pure uncontrolled chaos and even when she knows she may hurt someone she cares for she can't help herself. It's like she gets pleasure out of it. She knows the difference between right and wrong and chooses wrong because she's mental. |
Daisey's singing voice reminds me
too much of Kate Pierson. Minus the style. <iframe width="900" height="506" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9SOryJvTAGs" title="The B-52's - Love Shack (Official Music Video)" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
