Daisy Jones & The Six
New series that came out this month on Amazon. About a fictional band that came out in the early '70s and settled into Laurel Canyon. Inspired by Fleetwood Mac. Very entertaining, with some really good music in there, too.

She’s a pretty good actress.

Just finished it. I just kept telling myself that it’s loosely based on Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham so it didn’t seem so cheesy. Overall it was entertaining.
|
I started watching a few episodes but lost interest in it. Music was very good during that period and the soundtrack is good too. And I agree it is loosely based on the female line up from Fleetwood Mack, but I prefer the line up before Stevie and Lindsey.

I saw them in 68 at the miami pop festival at gulfstream race track
before Stevie and Lindsey joined |

Up to around episode 5 or 6.
It’s entertaining. Daisy, the character, toxic as ****. “I don’t know if we can survive her” i’m sure will end up being the most prophetic line in the story. Having a hard time liking her or empathizing with her back story. Up to this point i’m a little disappointed with the original music they are creating. For a story about two great singer / songwriters i find the lyrics lacking. |
Watching
I enjoy the genre. |
I finished it. Disappointed in episodes 6-8, but still worthwhile.

My wife wants to watch this BUT almost everything she decides that we should watch ends up being garbage. Usually halfway through a movie or first episode of a series she will say, "you can change it" once she realizes it is not good.

I like it less as it evolves. Daisy is so broken and toxic it's getting unbearable. She has her reasons for her demons but her demons make her a narcissistic conduit for perpetual chaos. I feel zero empathy for her and have come to actually despise her. |
The self-created drama does get frustrating, but it's a TV show. That's kind of the point. If everyone was a rational actor, they'd get along, make records, make money, and there would be one episode total.

I got up to episode 5 or 6. There are cameos by some good music, but the original stuff is awful. Plus, the story is not engaging.

I agree with your assessment. The original music is awful. It was nice to hear Gold Dust Woman played in one of the episodes like a breath of fresh air. |
Chick flick
