I agree with virtually everything you wrote. After visiting the Uffezi (sp?) in the 1990’s, my wife and I have had two Botticelli prints hung in our bedroom.

We are fans.

I also find that amazing. I live in San Antonio, Texas where there several 100+ year old historic churches. Most are quite amazing. What I find so odd is that as the city moved outward, the churches get less and less interesting and have zero character.
