Geeze here I was going to give you crap about not posting as much in the other thread and you go and test gravity. You should know better at our age its always on.
|
Wow...glad you're okay. So, magnesium supplement and use more salt? I'm also thinking that the next time you get up & feel dizzy, you'll sit back down and wait a spell?

Yea, for sure let the dizzy feeling pass before continuing. Feeling fine today. My wife had a few errands she needed to run today and we washed her Macan on Sunday, so it is clean. We received 3.78 inches of rain overnight, so lots of puddles. I need to wash the Elky, but it can wait for now. We took the Elky into the 106 degree heat index into traffic areas with lots of red lights, and a train. The AC was doing great, the water temp was a bit high at 220 at the long red light for the train. I had to wear my Hollywood star disguise. Baseball cap, and large sunglasses to hide my wounds, black eyes and avoid questions and stares. The other eye has a little bit of bruise showing up now. The good news, it does not really hurt. Honestly, right now I have a mosquito bite on my arm that bothers me more. |
Glad you are feeling better . When the wife says no she means no 😁 . I guess you know that now 😋

You can see the damage from the outside. They can see the damage on the inside. Good move keeping you overnight. Same for my wife when she fell.
I suspect you were whisked in quickly when they saw a head injury because of a possible brain bleed. A very good friend of mine my dad's age was in his truck and got hit in the driver's door. He was able to get out but by the time the paramedics got him in the ER he had turned into a vegetable. He hit his head hard on the upper door frame in an older F150. Glad you weren't him. Now to find out why. |

Funny thing, as the doctor came in my room, we chatted about many things, and one of his questions was what movie, and just what was going on. I know he was testing my memory, and story. He leaned over and in a quiet voice said it is OK to admit if something else really happened. I assured him, it was just a battle with gravity and the porcelain tile. My then fiancée made it clear, just raising my fist to her will cause an instant divorce, and hitting her is a call to the police. I told her the same thing applies to her. My parents were married for 53 years before mom died. In all the years I lived at home, and even after I moved out I never once saw them get into the screaming argument as so many TV shows and movies depict. Not once. Ever. The biggest "argument" they ever had was mom giving directions to get to a house of some friends. Mom said, "turn right at the top of the hill". So we got to the top of the hill, and dad turned right. No, no, no, you were supposed to turn left! It was a difficult turn around, but we made it. That and if paprika has any taste, or is it just a color addition. The tone of voice they used was obvious, no real argument, just different points of view, and they discussed it for many years. And dad never beat any of us. My brother caused some spankings for the two of us, but it was always my brother's fault, not me, I was innocent! |
I'll never forget seeing my next door neighbor some days after he face planted on his tile floor without so much as a protective arm going out to break the fall. Not pretty, and I'm surprised he survived it being he was 87 at the time if I recall. Looked like someone had taken a baseball bat to his face.
Good thing this didn't happen on your recent trip to Palm Springs. |

I went into Joshua tree National Park and drove for 30 minutes before I saw any other humans. Overall very few people out there, and I was alone most of the time. The one thing that makes me feel better, is I never felt even slightly dizzy even once on that 10 day trip as I was up and about the entire time, it was 17 steps up into my room. My room was a 12 minute walk at a very brisk pace from the restaurants or meeting rooms. I got a lot of walking in, and never an issue. On Sunday I did some tinkering on the charging system of my El Camino. There was some corrosion hidden under the contacts for the positive side causing an occasional no start issue. I figured it out, cleaned it up, and even with the AC in the garage, I was sweating a lot. Then I sat on my butt in front of my computer and did my company books, and surfed Pelican. Just sitting and watching a movie and standing up fast made me dizzy and I ignored the dizzy feeling and went for an apple as a snack, trying to keep doctors away. I never got my apple, and I was surrounded by doctors! It must work. :) |
"Youth is wasted on the young."
"Nature abhors a vacuum" -Eat your broccoli (iron for RBC). -Stay hydrated. Always. Piss with a clear stream several times a day at least. It means the bladder/kidneys/etc are flushing waste. I take a calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement occasionally. |
Am glad you're OK!

Crikey Mate... Take care :(

Ouch!
I’ve been on the program, trying to lose weight and have been eating a lot of low calorie fruit. Anyway, after getting up, I’ve been feeling lightheaded occasionally. I’ve actually had to bend over with my hands on my knees a few times. Today was a good day, though. I climbed out the window and went up on two roofs of houses we are building to cut some limbs with a battery powered pole saw. |
Yikes. Nobody needs a scare like that. Glad you are well.

Jeesus Glen.
So a Rottweiler attacked you with a knife. Blood everywhere, but you won. OK, starting to get the picture. Good luck with the recovery. |
Getting old does suck. I need to concentrate on getting enough water. And electrolytes. Apparently, a life of coffee and beer is not recommended.
|
Mom took a couple falls. But that was only right after new surgery. And then re-admittance. And more repair. She wouldn't slow down. Geesh.
Old people need to reprogram: Swivel, use hand grips, and always keep the knees together when getting into a car. Breath deep and rest, get up from chairs, and wait a few seconds before walking around. |
It will be an incomplete test...but get yourself a cuff for <$200.
I bought a CVS brand but every result was all over the map. The Omron (japanese) is supposedly one of the better brands. And it detects A-Fibrillation. But no machine is perfect or accurate in all situations. Low BP = Heart Rate increases to compensate and get more blood oxygen to the brain. Too fast and track events happen. Get worried over 100 rpm, uh sorry, bpm. Spinach has iron which helps increase oxygen content but it is harder to digest. Small portions at night. Don't take Vitamin C with it. Broccoli is better overall. |
Glen, a five stitch lesson is not what one hopes for. Sorry you didn't get the apple. Glad they got you checked out and good to go.
You have a lot more miles to put on the Elkie. Best Les |

I go see my regular internist doctor for my annual physical on the 18th (Tuesday) and I will ask about some more supplements. When I mow the yard or do physical work, or spend time in 107 California Palm Springs heat, I don't just sweat, I squirt. I was taking three showers per day after walking 12 minutes each way from my room to the main meeting rooms and restaurants areas. I am about to go mow the yard, as I missed doing in Monday as I was captured in the hospital. It is getting deep. |
