I have watched Dr Pol on TV sew a cows butt or a horse leg with better stitches than this ER did !

Bad sutures suck.
Many years ago (I was 12-13) I cut my knee while running in the woods. My parents took me to the hospital at the military base where my dad worked. They sewed my knee up. Everything seemed fine. When they took the sutures out, there was no blood, but the wound gaped open. Apparently, the intern that sewed me up pulled them too tight causing one side to roll under. They stuck one or two little butterfly strips on it and that was that. |
I will go to my regular doc to get the stitches out. He can evaluate and do his stuff.
One other thing the hospital did was give me a tetanus shot. The nurse asked butt or arm. I said arm, I can sit comfortably that way. It is just a little sore. I could not remember when my last tetanus shot was, so one more for the road. |

I've had to dig into skin and pull them out by the ball knot a few months later myself. They probably are absorbing these days. But just in case.. Have Mercurochrome or other modern topical antibiotic wash on standby. Cotton balls or other sterile wipes. Use it well. Zinc and VitC. Hydrogen Peroxide is not a bacterial disinfectant. It does lift crap from the surface. 3% is the norm and will clean the surface area at least. |

Benadine is the red stuff they now use to swab an area, I think..
Go lightly and keep away from eyeballs obviously. Clean and cover. |
Sorry, -OUCH!

I am off to my dermatologist today for my every 6 months check up and zapping of precancerous spots of my face and arms. So I will will look even prettier after that with burn spots on my face.
Part of the fun of getting older. I have to get older but I absolutely refuse to grow up! |
What the dermatologist did to me for a melanoma…amazingly no scar…I’m still pretty. You’ll heal up fine.

I go and see my dermatologist every 6 months. He always freezes off several spots of precancerous spots. He always is mad that I have any tan line, and I do wear sun screen when I am going out into the sun. I tell him my hobbies are all car related. Car shows, autocross, track days, and driving tours all have to happen outdoors, and preferably in the sun, not a rainy day.
I even had a cloth seat cover made for my 911 to prevent me from grinding the sunscreen into the leather seats and staining the leather. I always hand him a list of spots I want looked at, and he usually finds more. Better than ignoring it, and getting a skin cancer!I just have a few more burn spots on my face now. I guess it is the end of my movie career for a while. I had to retire from the ballet as well. |
LOL! Can’t ever go to the golf club without at least three guys with bandages somewhere on their body. They say most of the damage now is from when you were a kid (nobody even heard of sun block). After the melanoma they had me come in every 3 months instead of 6. Hope your noggin heals quickly.

Umm, skin damage. I have used Efudix skin cancer cream a few times. And yes, it hurts as much as you would imagine.

We went to our Sunday morning breakfast place that has great food, and two friendly waitresses that take great care of us.
I was in my "George Cloney" disguise, with baseball cap and sunglasses on. One of them came over and she had a small scratch on her cheek. She said she was moving to a new apartment, and turned around and tripped on a box, and fell into another box, and hit her cheek on a picture frame. She got an ice pack and went to lie down, and cry. I took of my hat and sunglasses and said "I fall down, go boom" and she said you win, no contest. I get my stitches out on Tuesday. The colors are fading, and I am not as scary looking. |
Not that I'm wanting to join the club, But I fell over last week thinking I would be fine the next day and I'm not :(
I've been doing a renovation on a five bedroom rental so Quite a lot of work. I had been painting the outside of the house and wrestling with a tarp/drop cloth in the wind and couldn't see a large pot plant/planter. Bang, right on the knee then I went over the top of it. Five day later I still have a very sore knee, both shoulders hurt. Haha, and broke the pot so had to buy a new matching pair - that also hurt. The joys of getting older. |
Could be Orthostatic hypotension but more likely just a basic Syncope..

I went to my regular internist doctor for my yearly physical. He said the stitches were a little overdue to be removed, and they were a very fine suture thread. They all came out easily, and they cleaned the area to remove dead skin.
He will set me up with a referral to a cardiologist and I get to add another doctor to my contacts list. And he reminded me it was just a few months out from getting another colonoscopy. Oh goodie. And he saw I see an Ophthalmologist yearly for an eyeball check. One sure sign of geezer-hood is a long list of doctors in your contacts. Only a few are just friends and not treating me. |
