Way back when, I refused to sell my Supra Turbo to a kid. Neither he nor his dad were happy about it .... I did not care

This is one of those things that I am amazed at, growing up, friends and their fathers built and restored cars together, our parents didn't buy us cars, we bought what we could afford and learned to work on them ourselves. My 1st car, a VW bus.


I was talking to a friend who son was 15 and it was time to start searching for a car. I suggest and old VW (this was long enough ago that you could still find one) but he was quick to say what ever his son got had to ABS and airbags .
Paul, like me started out with old cars that required learning to work on them, the days when you actually had to physically adjust your Weber carburetors, not plug in a computer and press some buttons.

If old cars are so dangerous how did we not only survive, but actually produced offspring.
