When one also considers that there were no guarantees on the field goal attempts (Badgley is just 77% at the range for both potential kicks), I’m confident I’m not alone in thinking coach made the right calls and the main contribution to the loss was the abundance of missed tackles and receptions in the second half. Folks love to razz a missed kick with “you had one job”, but I can’t think of a more appropriate phrase for these second half missteps. |

They are fuming.
The decision(s) were not based on anything remotely close to game theory in professional football. He knows it, too. Everybody knows it. The press in Michigan was falling all over itself trying to rationalize the bone-headedness of it but soon gave up on it under pressure from the fans. Had he kicked and it missed that’s just how the game goes. That would have been the right thing to do. Almost nobody would have advised him to go for it. At least nobody in the last century who wanted the Lions to win. |

So let’s see here.
Are you saying she’s not a rich white Democrat who’s made a billion dollars cashing in on her poor taste in men? Is that false? She’s a media machine, which is fine, IMO. Which apparently is wrong again. |

![]() And how the hell did politics even enter my Swiftie thread ... and why ?The "sore loser" effect... I reckon .Back to the Panthers, why they suck, and the games people play .... soooo who's it gonna be? Don't care who wins, want to see a great SB (as they have been lately) and I like both teams .... a LOT! But don't bet against Casey

If we can set TS aside for a minute , who do you think/want to win the SB ? Like some I just want a good close hard fought game . I am leaning a little towards the niners as I like the underdog Brock Purdy . The teams seem evenly matched . As always mistakes and special team play may be the difference. Time will tell .

Can't wait ... two of my favorite teams to watch .... it should be awesome.... I REALLY like Purdy and SF, but there is just something about that other team too.... can't quite put my finger on what it is....

Still very young, but i wonder how long he can perform at that level and that position. Wouldn’t shock me if he hung it up at 30. I like his sense of humor too. Saw something on social media where he was doing a signing event. He had a stack of 49ers hats in front of him. Someone snuck a USC hat into the pile. Rather than just set it aside he pulled out his phone and searched his stats from the Stan- USC Pac12 championship game. He filled the hat with # of yards, the 3 tds he scored, final score, etc. then signed the hat. I’m not a collector but that would be a cool one to own. |

Kind of odd that the offensive coordinator decides to turn down multiple head coach offers (and millions of dollars) after the game to stay with the team....since he is fuming and all. Almost nobody sitting on their couch during the game or professional coaches in the system and full up-to-date with the modern game? Last edited by Sarc; 01-31-2024 at 09:45 AM.. |

Right on. Those (unusual) missteps coupled with the multiple missed tackles put this one in the can for SF. The vitriol directed at coach is astounding. Maybe somebody still has Wayne's number? He never went for it on 4th downs.

"They've been aggressive all year," Brady said. "You know obviously, when you're aggressive and it doesn't work, it comes back to bite you. It came back to bite them yesterday. Again, I would've taken the points.
"I've been in those situations. I look at them and say, okay, this is the opportunity to continue to keep the pressure on the 49ers to make great plays and you're in a great position." “The handoff there late in the game, that was the one I didn’t understand,” Brady said. “Unless you saw some incredible look to walk the ball in, you just can’t take the chance that you’re gonna be stopped short and keep the clock running. You just can’t get the ball back. So that was the one I just said, ‘I don’t know what they’re doing.’ I thought it was just a flat-out error.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/tom-brady-discusses-dan-campbells-questionable-decisions-in-lions-nfc-championship/ar-BB1hylrd Last edited by Crowbob; 01-31-2024 at 03:57 PM.. |
