Did you notice the 911 wasn’t even a turbo? It was likely a base model N/A.

I’d like to see a rematch with a 2020 992 Turbo S, whose 0-60 time is 2.7 seconds.

Or how about comparing apples to apples, race a Porsche EV. 0-60 time 2.6 seconds.

Apparently the CyberTruck can do 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. However, under controlled track environments Teslas, from the 3, to the S, to the X to the Y are unable to sustain 0-60 times because the motors overheat. Porsche calls that “ Repeatable Performance.”

As stated 100 of time before, there will be a market for this vehicle and more power to those who buy one.
You should use current models when talking about repeatable performance. That configuration of the model S you show hasn't been produced since 2021. The plaid is known for having repeatable performance and goes much faster then the time you posted.

Talking Cybertruck vs 911. Who cares if a Turbo is faster then 7000 lb truck. It's supposed to be. You just said that an apples to apples comparison would be a Porsche Taycan to a 7000 lbs Truck...Thats insane. The only thing they have in common is their mode of power. The fact that a Turbo Porsche is even in the same conversation when saying anything about a Tesla Cybertruck, is a win for the Cybertruck. Yeck it's got you questioning the quality of the driver. It's got you, who I don't think really cares for Teslas, talking about Teslas.

Curious, do you think Jason Cammisa is a fan boy? Did you watch that Video?

Michael,

I started watching Jason Cammisa’s video . . . 4 minutes into it yea he looks like a fan boy. I’ll get to the rest of the video eventually.

My main point from post #119 is that Musk’s demonstration of the CyberTruck drag racing a 911 was disingenuous. It might as well have been a 996. Theatrics was the word I used.

Racing an EV against an ICE is apples to oranges. Musk liked the ability to say he beat a 911.

Teslas can be dangerous cars. Too much power/acceleration in the hands of inexperienced people.

Oh and the title of the Thread was “CyberTruck, Thoughts?” Those are my thoughts.

Some reality... How often would you use the "hyper-performance" of an EV?

I drive around with one eye on the speedo because our cops have been morphed into revenue raisers. Every other intersection has a safety camera. Also... Lot's of fixed speed cameras. If you get flashed you'll receive a letter a few days later. The cops must have a well staffed department that does nothing else.

You should watch the rest of the video. Jason Cammisa is not a Tesla fan boy, but appreciates the engineering in the build of the truck. His initial impression of a Tesla Cybertruck were the same as mine. Now I'd like to drive one. Wouldn't buy one, but I'd love to test drive one.

Musk already has the ability to say that a Tesla can beat a 911.
To say and show that a Tesla truck can beat a 911 while towing a 911 is just fun. Don't think to many people are cross shopping a 911 and Cybertrucks. but I think these are gonna sell much better then I initially thought.

Your right! The thread title is thoughts on the CyberTruck.

I never drive around in the high performance mod. I'll occasionally switch it getting on an onramp or something. But I just like being able to hit a button and ramp it up even more.

Definitely need to be paying attention when you nail it. Almost 100K and I haven't gotten bored of that rush yet....

It seems like the YouTube reviewers got the car for review before anyone else.

Which tells me... The Tesla marketing team know what they're doing.

The more I hear, the more I think this is a prototype project. Among other things, Tesla is trying to cast/form fewer but bigger pieces of the Cybertruck on the production line. Making production more simple will make production more efficient. This isn't about Cybertruck. This is about what comes over the next 5 or 10 years. Do not underestimate the synergies between Tesla and SpaceX. Musk's priority is not the Cybertruck's off-road credentials.

These guys are head and shoulders above most YouTube reviewers.

Rode next to one yesterday for a few miles; ugly. A total "look at me" car. I say "the Emperor has no clothes".

I think these guys did a good review.
IMO Top Issues:
- visibility
- noise (motor, wind, creaking)

After watching the video something happened that I thought was not possible. I like it even less now.
