Water + asphalt shingles + a route that seems unexpected but will make sense when you find it.

Bunch years back we built a new company HQ.

Spared no expense.

The wallpaper was some stupid expensive natural linen.

After a year or so we started noticing people were writing on the walls.

Well, co founder of the company went into a rage, like literally ready to murder someone, because more and more of it seemed to be popping up daily.

We finally figured out one of the trades had been doing calculations and making notes on the bare drywall and it had started leeching through from the back.

We use a pencil to write or mark on the drywall before paint. Ink pens, etc. will bleed through the paint.

I've been away for a few months so haven't had a chance to address. There has been no new evidence of moisture though, so pretty sure it was just the right combo of driving rain/wind that got under some flashing. I'll check it out when I return....thanks for asking!
